So.. after putting in the replacement engine, and putting the front clip back on.. and realizing how simple the wiring harness is..... I ran into an issue.
So, the side markers on the corners (not the park/turn signals up front) run through the major/minor of the parking/turn circuit. The side...
Dead. Didn't even make it out of committee.
WA has been tightening restrictions on military vehicles, even nullifying registrations in some cases.
Because each office is independently run, some things can get through the cracks, but there is a memo telling them to NOT register ANY military...
That Turbo 400 uses the vacuum pressure to determine shift points. The vacuum regulator is there for a reason.
Also, if the vacuum pump is hooked up directly to the modulator, you should get super early shifts.
The lines, if not replaced, are almost 40 years old at this point. Replace the...
There are situations where I use both a star washer and split washer, but never just a split washer. Internal tooth star washers grab, and they're great when you don't have kep nuts and need to tighten something down with minimal access from the other side. The split washer will put tension on...
The plugs are self-limiting. They won't draw more than X amps.... The internal resistance is usually 1-2 Ohms with a nominal resistance of 1.6 Ohms, per TM 9-2320-387-24-1
Using Ohms law... and the rated voltage of the wellman plugs (which I believe is 22v, not 24v, but we'll run with 24v)...
Umm... yeah.. no....not exactly.
Each of those plugs is designed to individually run at full rated voltage, and are self limiting, current-wise.
Unlike the CUCV, which uses a resistor bank to drop voltage to multiple plugs, HMMWVs use 24V GPs
The only thing is, if ONE plug fails, others are...
Links to Ebay are a no-no (Yeah, I know, it's stupid, not my rules)..... But there are Trucklite knockoffs available on Amazon, if you want to keep the Trucklite style, at a fraction of the price. Might be a good option for a spare, if you don't trust them...
Friend of mine bought a house made in the 70s. In the inspection process, the inspector noted that the panel, and the breakers, were all older and had an active recall on them, caused quite a few fires over the years, apparently. $3500 to replace the panel and wire it, and add the required mains...
I have a thread on LED options.
Do NOT get the oracle. I've laid out why in my thread.
Basically, don't get anything with multiple emitters that are bare (no optics), or behind poor optics. Best bet is something that has either projector optics, or Trucklite style. Both are readily available...
Emitter, yes. NOT housing, which has cooling/heatsinks.
I can tell you that my headlights were not even warm after driving with them on all day... and my previous pair (not the ones I linked to) DID get coated with snow/ice during a moderate downfall, which had me stopping every couple miles...
If you're in an area that gets any snow, you'll want heated lenses. Very few aftermarket LED headlights have heated lenses, and they otherwise don't produce enough heat to melt snow/ice.
I got projector LED headlights, and they're amazing... before the truck got wrecked...
It's only tax fraud if the sole purpose is to evade taxes. If there is another lawful purpose, it's not illegal.
There are other legal entities that exist outside of corporations and LLCs that allow such titling and registration, legally.
You do NOT want to be woken up by a bunch of 50 cal ammo cans and 120mm mortar cans, flexing due to temperature/pressure changes.... Been there, done that, got the T-shirt... and the adrenaline fueled sleepless nights after being woken up by them...
I was just using that as an example, showing how easy weight/price could be calculated.
I have no clue what current pricing is, but getting prices helps everyone, even in different parts of the country.
So, let's say I wanna make a cube, with 4ft sections... using 1" x 1" - 0.065" wall 6063 Aluminum square tubing..
Each 4 ft section would weigh 1.09 lbs.
I'd need 12 of them to make a cube.
I have no clue what the current rate is, but let's say $4.50/lb for aluminum
(1.09 * 12) * 4.50 =...
