@Mullaney You're saying there are no baffles to so that the tank will empty faster and for ease of cleaning the tank?
I'm glad I'm not hauling liquids.
Yeah, I'll insist that the loader shove the pallets as far forward as he can get them. He can use an empty pallet or even use a loaded pallet to shove the load forward when he runs out of reach.
I like Simp's cargo boxes. I might not find them before buying this load but they'll be great to...
Howdy Padre,
The palletized wood pellets come wrapped in heavy duty plastic already. They will either be in clear Saran Wrap as you mention or sometimes they are shrink wrapped in an even heavier plastic with the manufacturer's logo on them.
It's a short drive, only 7 miles one way. Still, I want to be a responsible operator. Not a lot of good places to pull over but you're probably correct that the only way to really secure this stuff is to shake it up on the road to encourage settling and then re-tension.
The guys saying 220F is normal are correct but I feel that the fan should not run non-stop while driving. Clean the radiator from the back, and consider replacing the thermostat.
My truck operates between 205F and 220F. During balls-hot summer temperatures in Maryland (90F-95F), in stop-n-go...
Soon, I will use my M813 to pick up 2 tons of palletized wood pellet fuel for the coming winter.
Obviously this is well within the truck's capabilities. I picked up one ton last year. I used a heavy duty ratchet strap over the top of the pellets, hooked to the exterior sides of the cargo bed...
It's not a different style. The only difference is a bugle embossed in the rubber. I ordered a horn button because the rubber on my old one was badly cracked and falling apart.
@Milcommoguy Ahhhhh, very interesting! I looked down in the hole and saw nothing. When I removed the old button, no wire came up attached to the tip.
Well, I did fix the issue simply by tightening the steering wheel nut further, which seemed to draw down the wheel so that the tip would go...
What you say about the water pump cavitation is concerning. When I replaced my belt, it was winter. Everything was so tight that I could barely get the belt over the pulley even with the water pump rotated to the closest point of approach.
Now it's summer and I've run the engine and the belt...
So my new steering wheel and horn button arrived.
I'm replacing a very old green steering wheel with the newer, black style which I've heard referred to as an A2 steering wheel.
I have compared the wheel and horn buttons closely. They seem to be identical to my eye.
I replaced the steering...
With regards to your photo, when I shoot the IR gun, I also hit the area with the thermostatic switch just next to that. It usually reads hotter.
Make sure the battery is fresh in your IR thermometer and don't shoot it from too much distance or you'll be checking the temperature of a wider...
Yes, the winds seemed to grow stronger as the storm moved north. This is the opposite of what I expected to happen.
There were 2 small tornadoes and roads washed out in Southern Maryland. My area a few miles north got off easy.
It's still early in the season. Plenty of time for things to go...
Just to add to the pool of datapoints- I ordered parts from AMG on Saturday, 8/1. My package was shipped UPS and will arrive tomorrow, 8/6.
No one questioned me or sent me any personal email, just automated invoices.
Yep, everything is away from trees but the storm got rolling before I could get home to remove the cover. Winds are pretty mild so far, but gobs of rain.
My road floods in 2 places so I drove the HMMWV to work today to ensure that I could get back into the neighborhood later.
I've also ordered a steering wheel, horn button and retaining clip. They charged me and promptly sent me an invoice.
We'll see what the actual turnaround time is. Of course, we'll probably need to factor in some minor shipping delay due to covid logistics issues with the shipper.
I can get it away from trees. If I can't align it with the wind, I'll pull the cover off, I guess. The material seems very tough but I figured I'd ask around.
A tropical storm will be passing through my area. I expect to see wind speeds of around 40-45mph, max.
Should I remove the cargo cover from my 5-ton, or is this within expected tolerances?
