Do as you wish on the pan sealer. I have always had the best results using the Fel-Pro gasket set and the Permatex Right Stuff sealer. And as far as the pan divots, I use the egged on the anvil or solid surface and tap the edge straight and smooth with a...
May I add that I have used the A C Delco 13G glow plugs just like it left the factory with in all my CUCV's for the past 27+ years. With the 13 G there is no need to cut the 3/16"spades and change them to 1/4" spades. With the stock glow plug system unhacked it has served me well. Another quick...
Get it fixed by a professional. I split a few cases from the slamming effect. Don't do a witch doctor/snake oil additive. Get it checked, repaired or rebuilt by a reputable shop. Make sure you also have them adjust the VCV so that it shifts properly. I see a few that shifted erratically after...
This is the reverse band in the TH400. It is lined with clutch material. It will wear the lining out of the center. The lining is worn rapidly from working the transmission in reverse. I burn one out on a CUCV snowplow truck every 2-3 years. Not saying this is the issue. Just making the issue...
The green wire on the left is an advance of the timing and the green wire on the right is the fast idle control. Both are activated by the switch on the right rear passengers side head. It is am2 prong plug and a brass 7/8" switch that threads into the head and senses water temperature. Good...
I would pull the glow plugs and crank it over quickly. If it is getting fuel the glow plug holes will get wet. And besides this is the perfect time to check the glow plugs and bench test them. I started many diesels and primed them after putting an engine in with no glow plugs. It cranks much...
just some pictures I want to share. Enjoy. I am on vacation this week to celebrate my birthday. What's going on in this steering dash area? Very cool stuff. I was looking for 1953 Buick parts. Just in case anyone has any out there.
My 2 vehicles. Today I went to a scrap yard that has vehicles from the 20's on up to modern stuff. That is me driving off the scale. No damage. I felt a little creepy in that place. Imagine the story the cars could tell.
I was digging thru a scrap metal bin and found a SS hinged license plate bracket. How cool is that. You could hang it under the bumper and fold it up when you are in a parade or wanting to off road.
Very Predator like it is invisible.
Folds up. Also, I have installed the last small LED bulb...
Shame is the 2011 Crown Victoria was in excellent condition. It was a Geogia car and was involved in an accident and the owner needed to get back home. So, he collected the money and scrapped the car. And really scrap is very low right now, so it was not worth much. It ran and drove fine. I...
I worked on a snowplow and converting my Kubota to LED lighting and my son worked on his project. After all this cutting and removal of body parts the car still runs and drives. Amazing it has no Check Engine lights and it is a bit confused about the doors being open.
It is a shame for this...
I also wanted to mention that the LED trailer lights were not compatible to the CUCV. I had to change the flasher to a Grote 44891 2 prong LED flasher. I think the issue was with just changing the rear bulbs in the CUCV but just to be safe I changed the flasher. The LED flasher has a ground wire...
If you didn't already do this. Take the left inner fender apron out and it makes the world of rag joints a better place. And if the inner apron is rusty, it can now be changed. Good Luck.
Is that all you need is the injection pump changed? M1010 scares me when it comes to electrical problems. I bought and stripped 5 M1010's because of electrical issues.
