No, TX200-6 Allison automatic, original on the xm757... max temperature noted after a 50-mile highway trip is about 185 °F. Ambient temp that day was about 75 degrees.
The 3 gauges on top were added by yours truly.
Yes, and I added some instruments too, note the transmission temp (top left) and the dual EGT gauge. The front half of the engine exhaust manifold is always a little cooler, egt-wise...
My main reason for adding a magnetic fuel filter was to eliminate hard particles that could potentially damage the many honed/lap fitted surfaces within the fuel system, primarily the FDC.
Agree, bypass the FDC.
Not on a regular basis, but I keep a complete log of everything and anything I do to my 757, even things like airing up tires, fuel tank level, odometer, zerks that were lubed etc from the time the truck arrived in the yard back in '06. A photo of the dash/instrument panel after a trip or engine...
The original secondary and final fuel filters are 6 microns, should be no need to change to 10 micron. (The primary is basically a water trap and is about 40 microns (original equipment)).
Cleaned the filter again a couple of days ago and the fuel tank is still producing rust particles...
Checked my log and it's about 46 hrs of engine running time since last cleaning.
A note regarding load capacity off-road:
This is from the FM 10-69 TM, which covers petroleum, but the same must apply to the water tanker (M50).
Also, I would highly recommend using chains off-road, mine was virtually unstoppable with the 1100-20 bias ply tires and chains.
Sideslopes can be...
Why not go with the original 1100-20 bias-ply tires? Perfect fit for the wheels (rims), drive all day long aired down off road, etc.
Radials are generally not good aired down on side slopes, weak side walls, and are actually too wide for the deuce rims.
Sipe them and they are good on the...
Needless to say, it sucks having this happening away from home.
I had expert help back in Sep '06 from Leonard Jones in Sacramento, CA during my cross country trip when I had to have the rear seal replaced.
(Truck is tilted by the use of the hiab outriggers for good access)
Hmm...interesting, the case of the flasher unit is normally isolated already, that's why you need the "C" wire connected to ground.
Voltages: "B" supplies 24 vdc (turns it on), "A" is the flasher output to the lights and "C", as stated, is ground.
The exhaust brake is not the same as the "Jake brake". The exhaust brake just closes off the exhaust pipe to increase the back pressure. Think "throttle" on a gasoline engine (diesels don't have one).
XM757 HEATING AND DEFROSTING SYSTEMS
Heaters for crew compartment, defrosting and engine are entirely separate and fuel burning, so that the engine does not have to run for the heaters to be operational.
Coolant heater with circulation pump.
Benmar crew compartment heater, including...
