that is one very cool find sir! It looks to be in really good condition.
Where in the panhandle did you find the truck? I saw a similar truck sitting in a lot up in Amarillo, TX but I haven't been by recently to see if it is still there.
I am sorry to hear that you feel that way. Every stop I make is legal and valid in the eyes of the law. A person can raise heck and write all the letters they want but in the end it is still a legal stop.
Folks with your mindset are why I make it a point to get one (or a few violations) on any...
Well I was on the way back to the office after working a small wreck on US287 (in Estelline, TX). I noticed what I thought was a 'mog driving south. I thought eh...what the heck Ill see if I can get a stop on it so I can BS with the driver (in hopes that is a fellow SS member). So I get behind...
When you do you Herculiner I recommend doing more than the 2 coats explained in the directions on the box. I did the exact same thing you did (Herculined my hard top). I found that I had to do quite a few coats to get the herculiner think enough to actually protect the top.
haha yes it wasn't little at all...sure was pretty though. The fireman who was driving had picked it up in Dallas area and had been driving all day. My Sheriff Tahoe showed 105*...he looked totally beat.
Caddo Mills is a pretty nice area. I grew up in McKinney and my parents live in Carrollton...
On Edit: I realize I accidently posted this in the deuce section...I meant to post in the 5-ton section. Would a MOD mind moving it for me?
I was out on the highway playing (running traffic/stopping speeders) and noticed a pretty little 5-ton drive past me. I noticed that the driver wasn't a...
maybe rust inside the cable sheath?
We had a 900 series 5-ton that had sticking issues (when using the hand throttle). We sprayed the lube inside the cable sheath and after a few times of pulling/pushing, it cleared up.
There is a writeup somewhere on here (on how to flip hubs)....try doing a search. If you can't find it, someone here will chime in. The search function can be a little strange at times.
I have taken my truck around topless (And with windshield down) but it was only an M35...not a 5-ton. It was interesting when I ran through a patch of bugs at speed...beyond that it was pretty fun.
There are several on LESO right now....it would sure be a cool and rare rig to have.
I havent seen one in person...but i have seen the LB A2 and a long bed 939 model truck.
