Right battery after charge is at 7.62v / Left is charging still. But doesn't look promising!
*The new alternator was because the old one that came on the humvee went bad. Yes, the Delco 21si is a 24v unit :)
Yeah I know what they should be at, and everything is 24v (no 12v accessories). I have them on the trickle charger now, but being brand new batteries and a new alternator. I imagine the alternator is the source of the problem? All my grounds are spotless and good connections, and i routinely...
I put in a new Delco 21si alternator in one of my 6.2 M998's and it's been running fine for 5 months. Then last night I noticed the headlights were very low, and i looked at the voltage gauge and it was all the way to the left (red). Went straight home and took a reading with my voltmeter...
I have bought from Cody before and the shipping was prompt. I had an issue with my order when it was delivered, and he did resolve it. I did have to pull a little teeth, but everything worked out. This was a year ago though. The tires were 37" bajas + 24bolt rims.
Papakb... what is the max safe amp load you recommend on a cheap inverter before moving to better commercial grade?

Love em and restoring more now on the side... It's my daily driver and wouldnt trade it in for anything. Bravojmc is right... your overall cost will go down if you stay on top of maintenance and get in the habit of checking.

Are you custom machining parts, or all off the shelf? Sounds like a worthy system to look into. Would be great to have some temp reading comparisons. I'm all for better cooling!
Delco is the brand

I will run radios down the road, but will run my custom SDR setup in my trucks. Is there such a thing as a 100% waterproof alternator, they have to breath at some point or they will burn up yea?
Exactly what I'm trying to find out. Cutting a notch where the rear alternator bracket can slide into the mounting housing, looks to be the easiest way. Then you can run a longer bolt through it and connect it to the rear bracket.
But I'll wait a little bit before I reinvent the wheel and...
I've had a few people suggest using delco's. My Niehoff regulator was bad and I fried the humvee. So from other owners, this is a better upgrade in a sense that you get a better internal regulator.
Anyone interested in sharing how you modified your bracket to seat the Delco 24v alternator? Looks like the easiest way is to cut a notch out the mounting bracket...

I agree with maa45069 on the overall best way. it's cheap/effective and I posted a couple pics of the actual paint with codes I happen to have on my shelf. I personally like the sherwin Type 9 carc which runs $96 a gallon. I think the texture feels more rough like old carc coatings, but the behr...
CARC paint is a military specification and all paint used by the military meets that requirement. So they make the specs for manufacturers to adhere to, and each makes it to that spec. Although, I think two of the main suppliers to the actual military are Sherwin and Hentzen coatings... but...
