I'm not afraid of a burst from pressure ... Since mine is meant to be portable ... my concern is that I'll crack or break that flimsy looking ball valve on mine just moving it around.

I used a junk yard.
I took out all the bolts that were holding if on ... put back in enough to keep it safe ...
drive the rig over to the scrap yard ... took of the tail lights ... and let them pull it off with there crane.
I put the tail lights back on, collected my money and away I went...
Nice clean, portable system!
I changing out to metal ball valves. On a portable system a plastic ANYTHING in the setup will someday be a problem.
Plumb it for gauges too.
They make diagnosing a problem so much simpler.

Have you ever had the fan run long enough that it challenged the alternator output and caused a dead battery?
I don't think that it should ... but you seem to have the most experience with this setup.
Is your fan 12 or 24 VDC?
Thank you.

When I was where you are now in the process ... I mounted the suspension first ... then cut off the rear part of the chassis.
A tip: Measure, measure and measure again, before you cut, drill or mount ANYTHING!
When I bobbed mine, my targets were to:
1) keep the axle square to the chassis so...
Yep! :-)
If I could paraphrase Robert Kennedy, "Others see things and ask why ... I dream of things and ask WTF!!!!!"
But this time might just be different.
Instead of brute force and guesswork ... maybe we'll use SCIENCE this time!!!
I know a guy that SWEARS TO GOD ... he knows something...
I'm curious (and not bustin' yer chops!!!) ... how or where did you come by this information?
The more I think on it ... this little pump may have a number of uses. Any info you have might help find these poor little pumps a new and interesting life.
I can see the walls of my workshop...
As the undertaker said ... "Remains to be seen"...
I dunno ... but I think its worth a look.
Or it could just end up as the basis for a HUGE super soaker!!!!!

Man ... there are a LOT of these little pumps laying around doing nothing.
I wonder if this thing has the gumption to be turned into part of an engine pre-luber system?
I gotta take it apart to find out what kinda pump we are dealing with.
I also got to see if I can find some specs on this...
DANG ... THAT IS ONE PRETTY TRUCK!!! You ain't really gonna put it in the FIELD are you???
That's nice enough to take you best gal to the dance in on Saturday night!

"cake"????
BTW ... for those keeping score ...
I removed the system today ... and plugged up the lines.
I test drove it and it seems to be just fine.
YES NUBES ... you can remove the entire system!

This could be the ground-bound equivalent of the C130 gunship.
Just gotta come up with a nozzle so's I can aim it at open window height!
But then I'd have to make one for both sides of the truck and configure it to select left or right.

Makes sense to me ... I've always thought that the shroud was there to speed up the flow of air anyoldways.
How tight to the blade tips to you figure is the best?

Thanks Guys! I thought it looked OK ... but figured it didn't hurt to check.
Yeah ... a little 24 VDC motor and pump might be good for something ... I'll take it apart and see what I have to do to rebuild it. Maybe I'll test it and get some data on pressures and such.

The manifold heater pump on my M35a2 started POURING fuel out of its vent hole yesterday.
Can this entire system be removed from the Deuce? I can't see any reason why not ... but I figured I'd ask.
I found a lot of threads that discuss removing the flame heater fuel injector ... but I haven't...
Oh yeah ... I ain't trying to cure anything. My truck runs at just about 180 ... maybe a little more when I get into traffic down by and into Marietta.
But the lure of maybe 1 or 2 more MPG's ...and ALL THAT EXTRA HORSEPOWER ... just sets my heart to racin'.
