I just tried sucking on the fuel supply side of the fuel pump with extra piece of hose and can't pull anything. So it must be the check valves or the sock in the tank. Do I have to drop the tank to get to the sock or can I get to it from the access cover?
I pulled line off fuel filter and dry. So I just pulled hose off fuel pump and am going to see if I can pull fuel to there with a separate piece of hose with barbed connector. If I can't pull fuel then it would be check valve or sock I believe.
I put a new filter in but maybe it got clogged from all the crap diesel that was still in the line. I'll pull fuel filter. It's new. And I sonic cleaned the strainer.
No, didn't look in tank, becausewhen I drained the 2 gallons of fuel that was in the tank it was clean fuel. I burned it in my torpedo heater. I was thinking maybe the sock is clogged. If check valves are clean that will be my next step. It's starving for fuel.
It's a 2003 m1123. I'm looking for diagrams of fuel system. It does have a mechanical fuel pump. Can check valves be accessed from plate above tank? Or do I have to drop tank?
If I blow into injection pump return line there's a lot of resistance and then I can hear bubbles in the tank. Should it be easy to blow in the return line?
Part of the problems were the two connectors on ip pump not making contact. They must have gotten bent when pulled. Now running for 30secs and then dying. I put 5 gallons of diesel in it, I'm wondering if it's not enough.
Back together! Starts but only runs for a few seconds, sometimes will run for 15 secs and dies. I purged air from fuel filter, and even tried compressed air in tank and it would help.
Are there check valves that need to get removed?
Thank you for all the support. I'll continuing uploading pictures as I go and make sure I get a video of the first start. Cross my fingers. I'm still looking for a diagram of the back of the IP and how the lines connect to it I didn't keep track.
