I don't intend to ever run my fridge on propane, and that's the only "leveling" issue I'm aware of. I don't think the fridge is as picky about it while on electric. But I'm pretty good about reading the cab level indicator and the hab follows suit. Even on the beach you have to find just the...
Always wondered what sort of military secret technology was hidden in those doors (that resulted in their removal from so many ambos at auction).
Yeah, I'd think you could fab up a worthy replacement. Looking forward to what you come up with.
I started looking at civilian ambos to convert...
Been looking for something to glue my Sika board insulation to the walls of the hab. I was going to pick up some Sikaflex 552 but nobody local has any.
Suggestions?
Liquid Nails?
Etc?
Also, I need to come up with a kitchen splashboard. I'm looking at a few tile options, but again I come...
So I secured the perimeter of the flooring with 2x2 and drove around town for a couple days. I technically live in northern Mexico and the streets here have more potholes than the Bagdad highway after an airstrike. I bounced the crap outta things. No issues with any part of the floor popping...
There are several types of "click" flooring. Some snaps together at angles, some is just tongue-n-groove, some (like what I have) also uses a small lip on the edges. I'd maybe be less concerned if it were heavier 8mm flooring, but his is just 4mm vinyl.
Yes, I'll have the perimeter secured...
Floor and radiant heater element are in. I'm still not convinced that this "click" flooring is going to stay in place. It's dependent on gravity to hold it in place. Even with the perimeter secured, one good bump and it's "JINGA". I think I'm going to have to use some contact cement if I want...
Get your TMs, but you already know that no doubt.
For door handles, I'd *highly* recommend upgrading to the TriMarks that are used on the A1R trucks. Simple mod to perform and can be done for a *fraction* of what NOS A0 handles sell for. Keep in mind that it's extremely common to find A0...
Tough call.
Some useful info there. I'd likely stick to engine/trans/truck stuff.
Weather stations make a nice separate addon, IMO. I'd do that elsewhere myself.
If you have an A1 or A1R truck it's pretty easy to pull tons of telemetry from the ECU and display it on monitor(s). Most diagnostic devices with Bluetooth can push display data to a laptop, tablet, or Arduino-driven display. Hell, you could throw it up on a smart TV if you wanted. There's no...
Doesn't sound right. Both doors or only affecting one?
Might check up at the mechanism behind the striker latch. The last time I was messing with rods I noticed that my tinkering had tightened things up a bit. The key is stiffer to turn as is the lock knob. Sort of the opposite of what...
It's just something I bookmarked ages ago.
While novel, it's really for a car. I don't think you can mod the software and add things like air psi, dual alts, etc, etc. Displaying those things that the A1/A1R trucks can pass from the EUC to a screen can be done with the right comms and UI...
I'm not sure that the lower boxes behind the seats still work. The length of the seat does seem longer. I guess it would depend on whether you slide the seat back all the way what angle you reline the seat.
The overhead boxes on the A1R trucks (with the headrest) won't work with these...
