On all the th400 I have had there is only one wire and that's for the electronic kick down from 3rd to 2nd. Reverse is done on the steering column. Iirc it's a switch with a blue and green wire. Are you thinking of a sm465?

Disconnect the only wire to the transmission. This is your kick down.

You kinda need the template if your cab does not have the dimples. Everything needs to be tied in with the master. I may have a template.

You need to make a template more than likely. good job on finding a good combo.

I have heard people running into problems with them. Hands down spicer are the best.

I was in the same boat as you. Best advice I can give you is to return it to stock. Minus the starter relay.
