I think the rods could be much shorter. Maybe a few inches longer than the height of the bucket. I would clean up the connections and coat them with silicone rubber cement to prevent corrosion. Consider adding a plastic spacer at the bottom of the rods. If those rods were bumped and contacted...
When I have weird symptoms with vehicle or trailer lights I always check the ground connections first. When the ground is open you Can get all kinds of weird results.
In the last issue of Military Vehicle Magazine they have an article with tips about buying a vehicle. They said if there is no title, run away. I’m not sure I totally agree with that. I do know that titling a HMMWV for road use in some states is very difficult if not impossible . Michigan is one...
I really like the rear bumper and tail light set up! That steel looks strong enough for a class 5 receiver. With that you would have three hitch options. I’m guessing you are building a work truck.
In Michigan a HMMWV with a street title is worth a lot. As Far as the lift kit goes, anything that was bolted on can be removed. That truck has plenty of ground clearance without a lift. What were they thinking? 😃
Someone here with more knowledge may be able to tell you if stock parts were...
Keep in mind that governor Wittless vetoed the bill to allow HMMWV’s to be registered and tagged. Her “reason” for this was that is what the last governor did. This was after the House, Senate and Secretary of State all passed it. She is tone deaf to the people’s voices. So if you buy this...
Is this your first MV? If you are new here, welcome from Michigan...
Bring extra motor oil, tools, someone in a chase vehicle and hearing protection. Don’t try to go fast. Enjoy the ride. My M934 likes 50 mph. I can push it faster but it just seems to purr at 50.
So this two bank charger is the right one for your application. The CUCV is different than the rest of our M series trucks. I installed a 24 volt battery tender in my 934. It was easy To mount in the cab because that’s where the batteries are. When I park my truck for more than a few days, I...
Thanks for the tip! I use alcohol and a small parts brush to clean off the green corrosion. Normally I use generous amounts of WD40 to prevent it coming back, like on battery terminals. I will be cleaning the NATO receptacle on my 934 and giving it coat of RTV.
I prefer the original two pin...
This is a bad place to save money. Either replace the slave or remove it and plug the hole. Shorting the batteries creates a bomb! Someone is going to get hurt...
I have never been able to weld sheet metal with my stick welder. I’m am not a professional welder by any means. So I bought a MIG welder and use it with argon gas. What a game change! Better control, less warping, and no slag to deal with. Can you borrow a MIG from someone to try it out? Perhaps...
