MV of the Month Febuary 2021

Thanks Tim, I’ll take all the extra votes I can get.😜 Lamar Rowland gave me that moose head when I attended the 2019 MVPA convoy. He was the march unit leader for the “ heavy’s”. Deuces and bigger trucks. On the Alaska convoy his unit was Nic-named the Moose unit. When he gave it to me I asked...

    Major rust repair help/ideas.

If you have some rusty parts, like the battery tray, that are still sound, clean them up with a wire wheel as best you can and coat the parts with POR 15. This will encapsulate the rust. You have to then paint over the POR (stands for paint over rust) with a top coat. I’m told that POR is UV...

New to the deuce and steel soldiers

Welcome to the ward. Buying two M35’s right off the bat tells me that you are sick enough to belong here and I can tell you, you will fit right in! Glad you found the best site that serves our hobby... You are already getting some great advice from very knowledgeable folks.

Well I can tell you I NEVER dropped a screw or bolt or nut or clip or anything into something I had to spend hours to retrieve. Nope, not me...😜

New Member - Piscataway, NJ - 2002 M1083 (need direction)

What is wrong with it? How many miles are on it? I bought a 1983 M900 series 5 ton truck that sat in a depot for 8 years after being reset at Red River. Put in new batteries and drove 1,000 miles home. Once all the 8 year old fuel was burned, it ran like new. It had 5,000 miles on it. These...

The Once And For All On Batteries...

The last time my M934 had four batteries they were all dead and beyond taking a charge. I run two batteries. My truck sits way more than it should. I installed a 24 volt battery tender and leave it plugged in all the time. I live in Michigan so I installed a block heater. When the temp goes...

M116 Tool Trailer - I would love some help

This is one some friends and I turned into a chuck wagon. It has a griddle, stove, water heater ( turkey burner and pot), pizza oven, two large coolers, two 20 lb propane tanks, five 5 gal water cans, plus all the cooking and serving utensils. All of this packs up in/on the trailer.

Need Me A New Steering Wheel - M936

When I park my MV’s I put plywood down so the tires don’t sit on gravel or concrete. I’m a bit sensitive about the tires. I had to replace all ten on the 934 not because they were dry rotted but because they had flat spots that I just could not fix. Buying 10 radial tires at one time will set...

Steel Soldiers MV of the YEAR 2020 - VOTE HERE

I would hang it in my kitchen... Our local affiliate, Military Vehicle Collectors Club of Michigan, prints one every year. We sell them as a small fund raiser. They are nice to look at each month. If you do a calendar, what kind of price could we expect?

Need Me A New Steering Wheel - M936

Yes, that would be nice and light too. I made mine with 1/4” plywood. I also covered the door windows. Sun light is very hard on our vehicles when they have to sit outside. I put UV block on the tires as well. When we drove my M934 home from fort Reilly, we started out with a steering wheel...
