The drive shaft angle is pretty steep on the back of the M1078 ( and all the others)
What do you think about shimming the axle under the springs 1/2" to 0". This would turn the axle a little to face the drive shaft with a little bit less of an angle.
Thoughts?
Thanks for the replies
How would the Tiger tool work with these particular caps that won't press through the yoke since the bolting tab plate is a part of the cap?
I am going to remove the drive shafts on my M1078 and have them balanced.
Attached is a picture of one of the new u-joints for my M1078. They aren't like u-joints I have replaced in the past ( all on smaller trucks) The bolt plates/covers and the bearing caps are all one piece.
I haven't...
Thank you for your reply . . .
Just pulled off the dash plate to discover that the plug at the back of the light switch was unscrewed and disconnected. Kinda strange, wondering if somebody disconnected it because there was a drain on the battery somewhere. Will have to wait and find out...
Finally back to work on the truck.
Replaced all fuses and relays, still no lights, turn signals, brake lights, hazards
When I purchased the truck at auction, their report showed a picture of the headlights working. I had the truck shipped to me and haven't driven it other than to get it home...
No the rails don’t come to the ground, I found they don’t need to, the bed loads right on easily because the winch hooks under the bed not on the end, thus lifting it higher
I may be able to make a video or maybe post more pictures when I get back from fishing
OK, here's an update, geeeez this is turning out to be a royal pain in the . . .
Called Gemplers, gave them the part numbers on the invoice Simp included above. Nobody knows what to do with those numbers. I ask for Tech support, they say it is a non stocked item and they will call the...
The Hoist and winch on the truck in the pictures at the top of this thread weighs a little under 1000 pounds.
There are a few advantages I felt to the hoist and winch system . . .
Weighs less, I needed the extra weight capacity for my camper
I now have a winch I can use to pull myself out...
Right, forgot to confirm the voltage was correct on all of them. Will have another look.
Looking around the forum on this subject, it was pointed out by Superman that you can use 5 pin spdt, for all of them and forget about the 4 pin spst relays. the extra leg/pin doesn't matter and makes...
I don't know if the correct relays are there. My cover doesn't have anything on it.
I downloaded the spec sheet identifying the relays and fuses.
I went through the relays to confirm the correct number of pins were on each one according to the spec sheet, and they were correct.
I guess the...
Since I purchased my M1078 the headlights, tail lights and turn signals haven't worked (or at least I haven't been able to figure them out). The truck has mostly been in the shop since purchase having various fun stuff added to it (dump frame with winch, started overland camper build, etc)...
