Well, I had power steering installed on mine. It uses a steering wheel two inches in diameter smaller than stock. Steering at low speeds is a breeze and it sure makes the Deuce's cramped cab easier to live with.
Nice work! Having said that....I will never muffle my whistler. In a world overloaded with rap music and other auditory CRAP, the sound of a C turbo is just too beautiful to quell.
G,
Thank you! I've already started studying it. I think I'll measure the pedal free play first. I have no idea how many miles are on my clutch. My Deuces' mileage is 11,210 and 490 hours.

Where do I find the Deuce clutch TM? I haven't been able to find it so far. My clutch engages way high off the floorboard, but doesn't seem to slip. My transmission doesn't seem to shift as well as I think it should.....and I can drive a Road Ranger pretty well. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Thanks for the kind words steelandcanvas! I used to have full access to a sheet metal shop, welding shop, and a sandblast cabinet. Sadly, no more. I know one of the owners of a local body shop. He too owns a Deuce. I bet he has a sandblaster. Dipstick.
Well, my rear brake tubing was connected directly from the frame to the rear axle brake tee without a hose. I cut the line, double flared it and installed the proper hose. Then I bled the brakes and went for a test drive. It seemed to work well, but I discovered an air leak at a fitting for the...
Kyle,
I just added a rear plate and light to my rear mud guard. I used the Packard military connectors(I soldered the connections), Prestolite 14ga. wire, and a 24v light. I ordered all of these parts from Erik's Military Surplus. I connected the license plate light to the tail light circuit...
Thanks RJ..... I'll check that out. My batteries are good. A trucker recently remarked on how easily my Brutus fired up cold on a 35 degree day. So I do have it hooked up right polarity wise? Simple stuff electrically speaking. I don't believe I got it wrong.
I installed an IS-24-L on my Deuce today. I did not get a red light even though it was sunny outside. I hooked the red wire from the box to the battery positive post and the black wire to the negative post. This is the correct way isn't it?
What type of brake fluid does a Deuce use. I've been looking through the lubrication order and using the search function, but I can't find out anything other than it's silicone based. I guess what I'm asking is it Dot3,4, or 5. Thanks for your help.
I had a problem with my front turn signals not working. It turned out that the connectors for the b.o. marker light and left front turn signal were reversed. I now have working front and rear turn signals. I do have one other issue. My front parking lights don't come on when my three lever...
It is the same as Hank's. I bought it from Memphis Equipment, but it's made by another company. I'll research the name. It steers as easily as a small car with power steering. Effortless and accurate with one caveat.......at speeds over 20 mph you have to work the wheel a bit to keep it straight...
Thanks Pete! My 21 year old son loves the rain cap look too and so do I. The tires are Firestone T831 radials. They're 11R-20 and 43 inches tall. I thought they'd be better in rain and snow than the NDTs. I prefer the big truck look of duals on the rear to singles myself. One picture shows my...
Palskidoo. Yes my truck is bobbed. It's easy to park (it's the same length as a full size pickup) and easy to maneuver on tight roads. My avatar is an actual picture of my truck. I have to go to inspection soon too. First I have to fix a parking light problem. I have driven it four or five...
Well, I finally got my Deuce today. It was a blast to drive. I've owned 4wd pickups that rode worse. Noise? I didn't think it was that loud. If there's anything in this world that sounds better than a whistler......I don't know what that would be. The truckers that shipped it and unloaded it...
There's a lot of very good information in this thread! I'd be finding all of this out the hard way otherwise. I hope to avoid all of these problems as much as possible by heeding everyone's advice when and if my Deuce ever arrives. Thanks to all.
