    Part number for the clip is 15567924. Figure 25, item 12 in TM 9-2320-289-34P. This clip forces the cable eye on the large diameter portion of the throttle arm shaft. I don't recall a bushing. Cable is 14038644.

    The aftermarket alternator regulators bootstrap without need to blip the throttle. I cannot see any other issue with alternators nor any need for external regulation.

    It is a 90° V8 with cross plane crank. Meaning 1 and 2 have a common crank pin. So these pairs are 90° off. Ditto with 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8. Divide the damper ring into 4 quadrants and use the lines to line up with the timing pointer, based on the firing order.
