I’m a total novice but my understanding was that a company like ca conversions has figured out the Allison stand alone issue and imyou could order a reman unit straight from them.
What are the companies doing these swaps? I can admit it would be way over my head. I’d feel more comfortable trying a 12v Cummins but even that I am not qualified to do.
I don’t mind doing the work. I built my own house and get dirty every day. If it were just me I’d buy one with the rod hall suspension and fix it myself.
but I have to be realistic. I have no time to fix this up and no shop to do it in anymore. If I ever hope to use this thing it’ll need...
Anyone have a list of companies that rebuid and sell humvees?
i know if west Kentucky surplus, Midwest military equipment plan b black dog customs
custom combat trucks used to do them but I think their owner passed away and their website is down.
Are there any others?
Where'd you get it?! What are your plans for it?
I checked out your website and black dog customs. They do nice work but, I'm not trying to spend 50k on this. 15k plus for one from eastern surplus seems cheap compared to current auction and eBay prices. No buyers premium or title trouble...
Dang, you got them for 4k?! Wanna sell one??? Ha!
I'm not trying to restore these to correct military condition, just looking for a good deal on a 4 speed truck. So I could get a replacement B pillar and aftermarket handles top and that's cool with me.
Was wondering what shape these came in.
Do these variants have the 12k halfshafts and portal boxes? Can't seem to find that info. They are the heavier 10,300 gvwr like the m1123 and I believe all those have the 12k halfshafts.
I'm looking into more info on these as their price seems to be quite good these days.
