    VT Loophole.... For trailers....

Not humvee related but I figured y'all would know about the VT loophole. My father in law gave me his boat trailer. Title is lost but we have all the other docs, including the old plate. NY DMV made us jump through hoops of red tape and we did it all, but I still haven't heard back in...

Humvee shock absorber and spring options?

American humvee has 2" leveling springs and a 4" lift springs. I assume that's 4" in the front and 2 in the rear?(I'm not certain) https://www.militarytruckworks.com/shop But wouldn't raising the front 4 inches (and maybe 2") cause some problems with the stock half shaft U joints? Seems like...

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

Yes I saw that disc brake at the wheels conversion on YouTube, done by Midwest military equip. But I didn't find any info on their site about parts or anything. The Tesla trans is a 9.73:1 stock. I did see a new gear set that'll take it down to 4.5:1 but, I haven't been able to find out if...

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

I'm still considering options, but there's basically Tesla motors and Danfoss motors at this point. Tesla motors can't replace the transfer case bc of the gearing, and they can't replace the diffs, ie direct drive, because of the disk brake locations on the humvee. Cost becomes prohibitive...

Crazy question but does anyone know if there's a ring and pinion setup that 1:1 or close to it? (For the diffs)

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

Another question..... What's the Gearing of H and Low? Is high 1:1?

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

I guess that makes sense. More like AWD in High and the true 4x4 in low.

Is the humvee transfer case an open transfer case?

How else would it remain in 4 wheel drive all the time and not ruin road performance? I know every truck I've ever had, when in 4x4, can't turn for snot on pavement or gravel.

    Model numbers and various options.

Here is some more basic info which I figure must be correct? Although I thought the 12k halfshafts came in later years. https://www.planbtrucks.com/humvee-variants

    Model numbers and various options.

Well for example, I've seen the models with AC, and that special dash piece. But what models if any come with heat? I don't really need AC but heat is a must.

    Model numbers and various options.

I lifted this from a YouTube post, no idea if it's accurate: Newer generations come with hundreds of improved and upgraded parts like 12k half shafts, differential coolers, stronger idler and pitman arms, ext. which may need to be replaced or will wear out quicker right out of auction if its an...

    Model numbers and various options.

Is there a comprehensive list of features that goes with each Humvee model number? M998 v. 1165 A1, A2 etc? As I'm search gov planet there's a lot more variables than I ever knew. Certain options I likely don't need but others would be nice to have. Some I may avoid due to increase...
