    Generators at GL ?

If you do want to do the sewerzuk mod, just make sure you get an 004 or an 005, this mod WILL NOT WORK for an 804, 805, 806. I second the 'knowing what you consume' so that you can get the correct sized, if you are sizing to a MEP guess low, if you are sizing to a comm'l available guess big...

#2 MEP 805B oh the joys

I never powered up before with 3 phase, but I was out of phase, i had them hooked up L1L3L2, when i change to 1-2-3 it fixed the light issues. now to work on the heat/ac units, one doesnt power up, the other show over/under voltage. I am not a pure'ist, so I may just toss the green units and go...

    The infamous Well Nut info

Today I noticed that I have had the drain well nut start leaking on an 805b, the wellnut has a larger shoulder for these larger genny's, the pn for the larger shoulder is Z3816. The A3816 works to plug the hole for now, but if anyone has leads on a z3816 or more a3816 I am in the market for at...

Going down on tire size on a M932A2

I converted mine from 14.00/20's to 11R24.5, it makes it a little bit shorter and slowed the top speed down about 4 mph. I like the idea of commercially available tires, plus your spare is mounted right next to the one that decided to show its insides to the outsides. They are almost to the...

    Half shaft question--spacing visible

Also check that the lockwasher is on the bolt. If the bolt was too short or the half shaft came out far enough to drop the lock washer off, then it would be floating around in the geared hub.

    MEP804A--Anyone have one of these?

I was told that the leads that are bonded are set in the plastic resin, and the resin would have to be broken to unbond them, then reresin them after you pull the negative leads out. I only know b/c I had to remotor my 804a and it would been so easy to pull the head at the same time. I did...

    MEP804A--Anyone have one of these?

just pull 2 legs of single phase out of the 3 phase, you will have 10kw worth of power, if you are concerned about 'imbalance' just hook up a 1500w halagon light set to the other leg to balance. the way it was designed by the army lasts a long long time if properly exercised and maintained...

    6v53 vs 8v71

Oh the over the road trucks didnt call it a 6-53, they called it a 318, or 8-71 was 568. That is the displacement. 6 cylinders 53 cubic inches per cylinder

    6v53 vs 8v71

Both are good motors, same design. The 6-53 was the go to motor in the 60's when the diesels were taking over the over the road market. They are both loud because they are 2 strokes. They will use oil and leak it, slobber it but thats just a 2 stroke. If those are the only 2 choices, just...
