It seems like the search function on this forum is somewhat “clumsy.” I’ve tried to use it several times with very limited success. Such as in your case, I would try “MEP701A”, “MEP-701A”, “mep701a” in the search field and all would give me slightly different results. But, hopefully someone else...
The switch located inside of the main panel enclosure tells you what lugs to use based on the switch selection. The AM/VM switch on the main panel tells you what lugs the gauges are actually reading.
I too learned from reading the TM last year when I torn into that DN4M with the bad pistons/rings. It clearly describes how to bolt down the rocker arms like you just wrote about. Without reading that information in the TM, I could have easily done some damage to an engine that I just finished...
So, on this topic what's the risk of piston to valve interference when the oil pressure relief valve is stuck, thus causing bent pushrods, bent valves etc? Have you seen this on the DN2M, DN4M engines?
Ray! Great job on this my friend! You're obviously speaking from experience on this too. I had no idea that the oil pressure relief valve being stuck could cause the lifters to pump up, causing the valves to not close all of the way, thus a no compression situation. I definitely learned a bunch...
You know, some of us just go through life and certain situations completely oblivious of how we're possibly affecting or maybe even offending others. I took the time to follow your suggestion Guy and I have read through the forum rules. Many things were reviled to me in that process. I humbly...
As was mentioned earlier in this thread by “Guyfang” I believe, a notable difference in temperature on the exhaust manifold ports by using your hand would indicate a problem cylinder. A difference in manifold port temperature as measured with an infrared gun may just be incidental. Have you...
Pretty much the same thing in the NW. Especially those low hour units. There’s a nice 803A with less than 100 hours up for auction next week in Hermiston, Oregon. I put up $4500 just to see what happens. I was already out bid and the auction isn’t until the 18th I believe. I’m tapping out at...
It seems as though it took a different turn😎 I knew as soon as Guy woke up today in Germany, we’d all hear about it though. All in good fun! BTW, your fuel filter leak issue is resolved, is it not?
