I do have a question on a M151A1 serial #
Would a USMC issued M151 have the serial # starting with USMC?
Mine has that preceeding the serial # on the data plate.
It is a 4-67 DOD Ford Motor Co. product
Not for sure yet,but we MAY be coming down for a while on Saturday in a POV,depends on work schedule(plant rebuild going on,crane is needed)
Plus we are working on the 20 odd acres of land for the horses to be moved up here before November,so the backhoe and tractor are working every...
Thanks for the kind words guys,I keep finding this 151 is in beter shape than I originally thought.
While searching through the parts I got with it,I found and NOS distributor, still in the box as well as a set of nos wires, plus the distributor is a A2 unit with the electronic ingition!
The...
All that stuff is owned by Mr Warren Dean,I have spoken with him several times years ago when I had the M553 GOER,it seems he has serial # 117(the last production one made) and his is complete and functional.
At the time he was in his early 80s(82 I think),I think he also owns a yard in Texas...
Well I guess since I have had it a week,I should finally post up about my recent purchase.
I purchased a 1967 uncut Ford M151A1 August 3rd,now the task of getting parts to restore it,as well as fix a few rusty spots in the front floors as well as the rear body behind the rear seat.
I had been...
Well,ya'll have fun, almost 100% sure we won't be at the rally this year, lots of factors working against me this year, lack of funds and time as well as no one to watch the livestock while we're gone.
I have started several M37s with the hand crank, most all old tractors as well as construction equipment was hand cranked,in one form or another.

I used patracys list of parts earlier in this thread.
I didn't even have to remove the transmission tunnel,I removed the rear fuel rail plug with a allen wrench from the top.
Well,the modification is finished!
The 250 didn't change much from 550 to 1300 rpm,but after 1300 it definetly revs to governed speed much more quickly.
It seems to have more mid range pulling power as well as upper rpm power out on the interstate,I was able to maintain 48 mph up the same hill...
Just a few pictures of todays exploits with the 813A1 and M62A1,
I had the opportunity to help move a log cabin constructed in 1931 from it's original site to a new site on the great grandson's property.
The 813A1 did ok,but was lacking in the weight department,so the M62 came out for the...
M123A1C 10 ton tractor in stock form, originally designed to pull the M15A2,M163,and M172 trailers,in later years it also towed the M747 trailer as well.
Powered by a Cummins V8-300 normally aspirated V8 diesel,785 cubic inches, rated max RPM of 3000.
Backed up by a Mack TRDX 72 transmission...
At work we use either a Hobart MA-5030D and Lincoln Commander 500,both with excellent results,
I have owned a Hobart MA-5030 myself as well as my current Libby welding corp 300 amp welder, both military issue, granted these are both a bit large for home use,but filled the bill quite well...
