I know this thread has been going for a while and I've not been around. I have read all the posts and I may duplicate something but I'd like to post this for future reference. EH, is your truck and M1028A2 or M1028A3? I'm assuming its a dually since your referring to the Dana70HD. Carrier...
My truck has changed a few times, next should really tell. Started out stock then had SM465 manual with 4.56 gears. It was okay. Next went to 4.10 gears. Here in the mountains, I gave up hills with 4.10s but getting used to it. Truck is in the garage waiting on me to install the 4500.
FYI it's...
Let me add one thing to consider. I had an air intrusion issue on my M1010 shortly after purchase. We drove it to the FL rally and barely made it. Rather than troubleshoot there in the mud, I ran a temporary run of rubber hose from the pickup to an electric pump and to the filter. Still had...
I have the same dragon to slay on my 4500 install. I already have a working truck with the SM465 but need a larger ID pilot bearing for the NV4500. I also escaped the hydraulic clutch blues, used a linkage design. Since I never twist it up off road, It should be just fine. What kind of pilot...
I don't know what 1.5KW 28V set you are considering but if its the 2A016 gas powered one, they can be a pain to start in their own right. They have that wrap and hope pull start.
For what its worth, this was the best rally I've had in a long time. Smaller, more intimate and just fun. As much as I enjoyed the MKT, the community cooking between camps and groups was very enjoyable. I didn't miss the labor and scheduling of the MKT. While there were 2 food trucks there...
Nice write-up and pics. My SECM already has an SM465 in it. Its in the garage now awaiting the NV4500. I'm using a Dodge gasser version as it already has the 1 1/8 x 10 input shaft. A simple plate adapter is all that's needed. I'm also using a 208D out of a Dodge as it has a rear output yoke...
Yup yup, the wheel lift looks good. Question, how did you adjust the WB 4" ? I'm curious because I had that issue once and found that if you flipped the springs front to back, it gave you the 4 extra inches.
Well, its been a few weeks and then some. Actually, just got a new laptop today and this post showed up. I ran and got my external hdd and spent an hour looking for that pic. I just cant remember where I got it but if this works, its attached.
CUCV folks. I have a 700R4 (maybe 2),
extra NOS case, 241C transfer case, TV cable linkage, diesel governor for 700R4 and a new converter. I may have a dipstick too. The trans and case came out of a 6.2 blazer so it already has the correct governor. Consider it a rebuoldable core.Whatever 700R4...
