you might consider just putting the exchanger in the line from engine to heater core. As long as your fresh water pump is not running then cold water will not circulate through the fresh water side and there probably will not be much heat loss. You can insulate the heater core to help. This...
I did not buy from bostic but i bought a new one that had a head issue and they would not stand behind it either so from what i have found, new or used, there is no warranty on engines.

maybe your truck is different from 1009 but I was not aware of a heater control valve. There is always flow through the heater core, the air flow is the only thing controlled. I replaced my heater core and the hoses connect directly to the heater core with no valve.
you would want a valve in...
I am helping a friend who is an insurance adjuster.
We are trying to find replacement cost for some parts for a North American AT-6 and a Vultee BT-13 airplane.
We have some misc. parts to find pricing on. Any one have any info on vendors for these parts.
Thanks for the Help.

I used a flex dipstick for my trans when I went to the 4l80e...
might be worth a try to pull a head from your existing motor, the one with bad starter bolts and put it on this motor to test compresion. This should let you know if it is a ring problem or a valve seat problem. you can use the same head bolts just dont do the last bit of torquing. They will be...
what did the gaskets look like. the motor has not had coolant for quite some time, they could have dry rotted. I can't see any problems, maybe throw some gaskets in it and retry the test. IF you have a place to check the heads then that might not be a bad idea.
it looks good but you have no idea what has been put through it and it is pretty large for the heat you need. I would buy something like this if I was planning on using the engine coolant for heating the water...
Very nice write up, I did the same with my new motor. I just had to use some washers behind the power steering pump. everything else worked out fine. I used a small 3ft level since i had the front clip off. One way to get the power steering pump tight without prying is to use a floor jack and...
I have the TSM transfer case brake on my 1009 and it does not work very well. It is tough to get the adjustment right and the assembly rattles pretty bad. I think I will change to the duel calipers like you have sugested in the near future.
I do not know the thread size but it is not the best location to install a sensor. in this location it is reading the temp coming directly from the radiator to the engine instead of the water leaving the engine.
my apologies that I miss read the post, I did not see the post of the test, I thought I saw a comment that they were all at 200. I have been traveling the past few days and did not go back and re-read everything.
just because they were ohm tested does not mean they are glowing at the ends and...
I will do what I can to help. let me know what you find out.
I really think it is not getting any heat to glow plugs, they were new but pull them and test them with battery charger or other 12 volt source. make sure they are glowing on the end and not in the middle.
also check your glow plug...
I have it in the front and back of mine, no pics at this time but I can probably get some this weekend. It is held in place by the door thresholds and the 4x4 shifter plate. I have a different plate in my 1009 that covers all of the top of the hump because I have three shifters.
you can also...
They are suposed to be the same, same webbing changes and the same metalergy changes. I had one issue with one of the heads. The valve cover bolt hole blew out the side, i had to have the head repaired. I beleive it was machined to close to the edge of the metal. It is possuible that to much...
have you looked at the ceramic beads that you add to the paint. you can use any paint but these ceramic beads are probably the best for a paint on application.
for the interior of my 1009 I used 3 of the lmc products. The asphalt based kit. I put 2 layers of it in, (3 in some areas) then the...
I will help with what I can. I purchased a new one to find out they are now being cast by dalton and not optimizer but that is on new castings not rebuilt motors. the motor would have to be a 2017 or newer cast for it to be a dalton.
