No fuel at the first filter probably means the in tank fuel pump is not running, So check that first by checking the fuse in the top small bolted cover of the pump.

I cut 1/4" thick rubber re-enforced mat which I cut to a decent size and fit with 'Swinging hinges' to me trucks.
The diamond T has no flaps.
But I like them and think it looks better, so that gets the same fitments as well. (Though larger).
I have never in my many days ever seen a truck like that.
I would therefore most certainly bring it back to fully original.
