It's diesel. It actually the Yanmar engine from a BAPU that I swapped the 24v charging head for a 6.5Kw gen head. Back in 2018 there were piles of them with only break-in hours pouring off GP for cheap.
Sadly, the gen head took a dump at 25hrs during the big freeze. I suspect that it...
Ouch, a bit rich for hub caps..
Still, I support folks who make their own wears to sell.
I still say that a flat ring on stand-offs is the way to go, though. Pity that MWE didn't put a bit more effort (and a forth mounting point) into their design.
I would say "drive it until the alt fails someday".
Then get you a heavy duty commercial civilian ~200a 24v alt. Ad a step down for the 12v stuff. /done
That will set you back a couple hundred bucks and be FAR more trouble-free than the dual voltage Neihoff (which will cost you $3-6K from a...
ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT FAIL change to dual batteries with a 100a alt. Hell, I have the 260 alt and only run duals (the others are used as house batteries at the moment and only charge via shore power).
It's a five minute mod and there are plenty of threads here to read up on it.
Yep, that is the A1R cab system.
Out of curiosity, what is aft of the driver wheel well? Is it a slanted panel (that actually holds the parking chocks) or is it a panel that forms a rectangle?
The A1's typically had the slant unless equiped with winch, etc where the space housed the hydraulic...
That is curiously cool, huh.
It it sort of makes sense. The cab was never intended to be up-armored so the coil overs are totally unnecessary until you reach the P2.
Never seen this configuration before.
I like it.....
As Geo said, that's just the airbag replacement. There's a TON of other bits that make up the system. You'll spend thousands to make it a squeaky cab. LOL
Yeah, that's a later A1 . The A1R would have the giant coil-over front shocks and no air ride. So you're sort of in-between models there. Score on the C7 though.
I bet it rides well w/o air ride. The only thing that makes the A1R's a bit stiffer is the coil over. Air ride is OK but lots of...
Might want to drain and save it, then. Diesel is good for a year w/o any Stable/SeaFoam/biocide treatment. Better than gasoline, but it has a shelf life running it thru a EFI system. Depending on the conditions, you start to run into all sorts of algae, etc.
I'd certainly save it for flaming...
As far as problematic...
I ran a set on my first truck and they are now on my M1079. Five years of daily driving and never had any problem.. The only issue I ever heard was that the holes to reach the valve stems don't always line up if you have the old style CTIS units on the wheels (I never...
Rgr all, thanks. I was able to use the pic that Alex posted (with the hokey pucks). He confirmed the order as what's on the drawing there.
The whole process took 10 minutes to take down and reassemble.
Amazed that the last time I inspected all the bushing, only one on the driver side had any...
How much diesel? I'd likely drain it if you suspect the vehicle sat with the fuel in it's tank for years. If the previous owner had been driving it, I wouldn't bother. Have you SEEN the price of that stuff????? (thanks a lot, Brandon)
I wouldn't sweat the CTIS just yet. Lots of various...
Since my bushings took a hike (literally disintegrated) I'm not sure of the order of assembly.
A1R so no TM....
I'm thinking this is correct but still playing with the puzzle pieces?
*the cracked/old bnushing in the upper position was originally inverted, though
Anyone with an A1R know?
