Hi There, I was thinking of jumping it from my wife’s Jeep using results jumper cables attached to the front battery of the CUCV. Thanks for any input.

I feel really silly asking this, but I’d rather ask a silly question than make a huge mistake. I’m a new owner and still learning; I have a 1985 CUCV and I realized I left the floodlight on after it was parked. I haven’t tried to start it yet, but if I do I want to ask if there’s a particular...
It turns out one of the replaced valve covers (passenger side) is slightly leaking. That and the Rear Main Engine Seal is bad. Two mechanics in a row have not fixed the rear main seal problem. It took me and a backyard mechanic to figure it all out.

Hi there, he used rtd for the valve covers. The mechanic who had it is saying the leak could be a blown head gasket, is that even possible? I thought coolant was what usually leaked.

Hi 1love, I have an oil leak. One mechanic has it now, he wants to see if it’s possibly the head gaskets. I’d love to find a great mechanic to do any and all work. It’s been a challenge to find someone.

Thank you for all of your input. Another mechanic is looking at it today. One discussion has been head gaskets.
We will have to see about all of that. In the end more investigating needs to be done. I’ll update again.

I have a 1985 CUCV and there is a leak, which I’m not sure if it’s oil or fuel. Pardon my uncertainty, I’m not a mechanic or even very mechanically inclined. I thank you for any input.
I just had the valve cover gaskets redone (RTD), as well as an oil pressure gauge installed.
I wonder if...
Hello Everyone,
I live in Southern California, Orange County area, does anyone know a good mechanic who works on Diesel engines/CUCVs?
Thank you for any input, I appreciate it.

Yes this is all true! Hmm, I’ll have to see about finding someone who’s good at this to guide me. I like the idea of learning about it, during the process.
