GMG (Green Mountain Generators) phone number and contact information
GMG here. We receive so many calls for people requesting service and troubleshooting that it has become a major drain on resources. If you are looking for a specific part, please use our contact form
If you have a technical...
Always run at 60Hz to warm up and run. For a long-run and to compensate for voltage drop, you can boost to 61-62Hz (depends on run length and desired phase/voltage combination). But there is no reason to run the unit below 60Hz ever.
First off, you are 128 miles from us. Second, our address is not a retail location. Third, part of our business is based in New York and part in Ohio. You seem to be a bit angry and resentful for some reason and should reflect on why. This is not the forum to evaluate a private business. If you...
Unfortunately, participating in this thread is an optional part of our work. Please send us a private message or contact us through our website if you need to reach us. I also just posted our phone number more clearly as well. Thanks.
Tough crowd on here! GMG is doing fine. We have expanded our products. Our phone number is 802-368-1750. We prefer email as we receive dozens of calls per week, many of which are requesting technical support for free. Not only do we not have the time to offer free phone support, it's pretty much...
Bob here from GMG. No, it doesn't matter. There are so many variables other than "brand" that are important and one doesn't know until one gets the genset home. Many units like the MEP002A and MEP003A are component-ized and any one of these components could have been swapped during a gensets...
What is Gentac? Generac? Here is the Costco product I believe you are referring to: http://www.costco.com/Generac-17%2c500W-Portable-Generator-with-Electric-Start-and-20%E2%80%99-Cord.product.100170777.html
This is a max rating of 17,500! If you tried to run this unit anywhere near that for 30...
Agreed. Do not oversize your generator as you will simply burn too much fuel and run out of gas on day 1 of a 5 day outage...An aux fuel supply is key.
Our advice is to never even turn the unit over until the entire fuel system has been cleaned: tank, all lines blown out, all filters replaced...Then when you crank for very short times, ensure that fuel is getting to the injector pump. Do not crank the first time with the IP hooked up...I would...
GMG sells injectors and glow plugs...all new...But we have limited supply (although right now it's healthy)...http://greenmountaingenerators.com/product/mep002a-mep003a-injection-nozzle-and-holder-assembly-onan-147-0136/
Read this beastly thread! Sounds like compression, which is a big deal in terms of labor. I'm assuming that you pulled each injector to inspect for fuel spurting from each injector as you crank it over...Just want to 100% rule out bad injectors...This is easy to replace...If all 4 are spitting...
This blog post at GMG can help: http://greenmountaingenerators.com/how-to-wire-a-mep002a-or-mep003a-diesel-generator/
The knob that selects what the meters should behave must be matched to the phase selector on the distribution box...The meters can work multiple ways (i.e. single and three...
Hello...Make sure your phase selector switch is set to the desired output AND that your selector on the Control Box matches it...The switch on the control box tells the meters what it's reading (i.e. 3 phase or single phase, etc.)...Next issue is to get a good (or cheap) multimeter and test the...
You should consider going the spin-on route and use 1 water separator and 1 filter...2 filters is a bit overkill (your call). GMG sells the spin-on bases, filters and water separators...We also have an odd lot of 2 fuel cannisters here...
GMG has glow plugs (Onan 333-0107) and fuel injectors (Onan 147-0136)
GMG (Green Mountain Generators) stocks these...We hunt around all the time for NOS to keep these units running. They, unfortunately, are not cheap, but a lot easier than tapping a new port to accept a more common size...
We have NOS Onan 147-0136 for MEP002A and MEP003A units and many other Onan Machines
We have a number of these in stock....http://greenmountaingenerators.com/product/mep002a-mep003a-injection-nozzle-and-holder-assembly-onan-147-0136/
I made the original post and also posted a possible correction identical to your post. The key is to order Champion SKU: #CH42 (aka: ITEM: #CHA182) and NOT SKU: #CH182 (aka: ITEM :#CHA147). Very confusing numbering! Champion SKU #CH42 is what you want. Someone should clarify on SteelSoldiers...

GMG here (aka Screejunk). I will try to post a picture of a comparison between New, Old, CH182. Here are the Champion specs for CH182 and CH42:
Champion Glow Plug #CH182
ITEM : # CHA147
BRAND : Champion
Hex Size: 3/8" (9.5mm)
Thread Size: 10mm
Terminal Type: Blade
