looking for info on 5.9 cummins

98 is the last year for the 12v. On 24v they have a weak lift pump that burns out the ip pump. One thing to look into.

Converting back to 24 volt question

All depends on what they cut for wires. My m1008 was done by a somewhat knowledgable hack and did not do too much damage. The 2 other trucks I got we're very bad and needed full harnesses. I can't fathom why anyone would convert to 12v. Hopefully they kept all of the spare oem parts so It will...

    M1009 pulling a S-250/M101A3

Oh ok. The one last week on GL was not a s-250 that's why I was asking. You would want to find the latter m101a3 with the fenders that go past the side of the trailer. That way you won't have to cut them.

    dana 70 dually on a m1009

I would personally find 1 ton axles with either 3.73 or 4.10. I think 3.73's would be very nice with the th400.

Just bought a M1009, looking for some advice

Thats just how old trucks are. The more you bounce around the more the gauge goes. One thing you might want to try is to go on youtube and watch other people do the repairs or show you how to do it. Or google.
