I would really suggest you convert your glowplug relay to 12v and by passing the resistor. Tons of threads on that and the reason why we do it. I love the 24v system but that mod has very good reasoning.
Even with someone turnin the key? (Trying to start it) if yes make sure you are getting 12v at the starter relay on I believe purple with white tracer. With the key in start position
You don't need 8' leads get a friend to help you. Pretty much get a multimeter and test the Big red wire and make sure you have 24v. Then get a friend to turn the key and see if you get 24v's at the small terminal (the purple wire. )

I think it's easier to tell people driving your truck not to mess with any of the switches. Or you can bend a piece of metal so it is physically impossible to move the switch.
If you can't get to it atleast pull the old relay down. So it is easy accessible. The very first thing I do is pull it out until I get the new one. Then use a jumper.
