I have an M1031, box, PTO GEN, etc. sill plate says M1028. Box was produced in 1990 (Or '89, have to double check).
I remember when I picked it up I thought it was weird that the title/vehicle were listed as 1028, and the box was produced years after the truck was made...
Mine was listed and titled as an '84, there was no confusion on the one I bought. I did look at ones that had no year listed, which is why I called for clarification....

AFAIK, on an NHC250, The only thing needing power, once running, is the fuel shutoff solenoid, which can be turned open manually if need be. That should be less than an amp...
