As the Village Idiot has correctly told us, Gillespie 24087 is too brown for Vietnam era. In the '80s the military changed some of their paint numbers around and what was 24087 became 24084. I'll never use Gillespie or Aervo again. I only use Randolfproducts.com paint. It's about twice as much...
Thanks Doghead! haven't had to pull a shifter apart, guess that's why it didn't ring a bell. I poulled the top cover off a junk tranny and sure enough, there it was. Guess I gotta tell my friend to get his workers to stop speed shifting. :driver:
A local contruction type sent me this picture of a part that his mechanic pulled out of the transmission of a deuce. He did not know where it was in the tranny. I don't recognize it. Anyone know where it's located?
Thanks
Jeff

Hey Kelly
A little weeping from the head gaskets is acceptable. There was a note about it in PS mag at one point. It when the compression ring blows out the back of #6 you'll need to do something. :) but not now.
I think Star Electric has the head bolt wrench. I made one by welding the end...
Someone else asked about this truck last week. There's a pic in the other thread.
