    Lugnut help (newbie)

Are you going to be hauling any significant loads? If you will just be driving around mostly empty, you can get nuts like the fronts and use them on the studs on the rears and ditch the thimbles.

    Drive line angle

If the rear of TRANS is up, look at the front mount. Was that moved when the cab was added to? You DO know that these trucks vibrate, shimmy, wiggle all the time. How can you tell :p

    Over Windshield Storage Shelf

No, TMG do not have FMTV overhead consoles/shelves, they DO for the 8/900 series 5t. You will most likely need to make one.

    Ring Mount Information Needed

Blisters, did you find any links in the truck when you went through it? I put thousands of rounds down range with that mount on the truck.

    More Tracked stuff!

No idea how the dual hz worked, there was most likely some sort of converter, stepper, something connected to the end. I do know for a 4 pole generator to produce 60 hz, it truns 1800 RPM. When I did work on gen sets at the airport, the engines still turned 1800 but were 400hz, maybe more poles...

    More Tracked stuff!

The museum also owns an M114. The data plate nomenclature says T114. The t114 variant was the tank Killer, had a 106 recoilless mounted at the Commander's Coppola. There weren't too many made, I think it was experimental. This particular track has US Air Force markings. It is marked TRTG...

    M4 Sherman fixing....sorta

The museum has three M4 A3 E8 Sherman's. One is a runner, the other two are just display. This particular tank was a save from a gun range. It acquired while it was still on the Range but unmolested. Was pulled off the range and put on a road for pickup. Nobody told the aircraft that were using...

need hemtt Detroit Diesel 8v92ta mechanic near Sacramento

I don't remember how the cooler on a 92 receives coolant. I do remember the outlet is on the left bank under the gov, linkage tubes. Too rusty on driptroits to be of much use.

Not with the head off.....well, maybe, plug the outlet or inlet, put regulated pressure with a shut off to the opposite end and see if it holds pressure....has to have a gauge somewhere in the loop.

This pic, see the scratches/scuff thru the intake ports?

need hemtt Detroit Diesel 8v92ta mechanic near Sacramento

Well, the aftercooler is pretty easy, sometimes they can be repaired, blower needs to come off. I would still be looking at the pistons real good. In one of the pics you posted looking into the air box, it looked like that piston was scuffed. Roll the engine over to get the pistons at BDC on...

need hemtt Detroit Diesel 8v92ta mechanic near Sacramento

Mike, something else I just thought of, it is aftercooled, corrrect? The cooler is air to water, could be a failed aftercooler.

need hemtt Detroit Diesel 8v92ta mechanic near Sacramento

Mike, look for areas on the squish rings for carbon tracking, that will be an indication of the gasket blowing, the little white grommets will be split or destroyed in the path of the compression leak. If no evidence found, check the head for cracks, look between the injector bore and valves and...

I might have a liner puller, but it no workie with the pistons in the cylinder. Also, pic 2 in the post looking thru the air boxes, the piston looks scuffed. That is not a good thing.
