Yeah that looks right. Odd it didn't come with a type 2 also. They do make a type 2 cable for the DPA that doesn't need an adapter. Even my DPA-3 has the type 2 adapter.

Took me most of a day.... I would guess ~6 hours. That's replacing the entire harness back to the ECM though and removing the riser completely for cleaning and installing the injector harness and replacing the riser and rocker cover gaskets (both the same gasket).

The DPA3/4/4+ should work with 12v no problem. I've bench flashed ECM's with 12v, 14.5v, 24v, and 28v and neither the CAT computer nor the DPA seem to care at all.
There's really no need to have a second port. You won't need the Bluefire when CAT ET is connected and I'm not even sure the ECM will allow that and/or it may confuse one or the other. Laptop with CAT ET and the DPA and the cables will not be something you want to permanently install.

Usually just pull the engine rather than the trans in that scenario. To pull the transmission the military would pull the bed off the truck to gain access. So that's two steps instead of just pulling the engine.

Easiest thing to do is hookup a laptop with WABCO Toolbox and get the codes - it will also read live wheel speed and it's usually immediately apparent what the issue is...... Without talking to the ABS controller there's really no way to know what it's complaining about. Best you can do is guess...
A spritz of brake clean into 6 gallons of oil isn't going to do diddly. Engine heat will evaporate it in a hurry and it wouldn't be enough to change the oil characteristics even if it didn't.
