Leroy diesel has the gears to replace the timing chain
http://leroydiesel.com/products/leroys-db2-timing-gear-set/
chains normally stretch and will run ok. yes more noise will happen with a stretched chain because the timing is off just a little once stretched.
fluid dampner to replace your...
I did mine with red led's
got them at

one thing you might want to do is paint the inside of the bezel. you will find the old bulbs have burnt spots in the bezel. I painted mine a reflective silver but I think white would have done just as well.
don't change...
get the turn signals from the later grill set up where the turn signal is behind the grill beside the headlight. LMC has them I believe it is the grill with two headlights on each side.
as stated as long as angles match and the joints don't bind you should not have driveshaft vibrations.
If the angle is two steep at the t-case the slip yoke can bind slightly and cause some vibrations when the suspension is being worked. noticed more at slow speeds. This gets worse as the...
a lot of times the steering problem is in the steering shaft flex joint or rag joint as it is often referred to. it can be replaced with new and last for a while or most who do off road mods get a shaft with u-joints and not the rag joint...
just for the info:
lowering the t-case by lowering the cross member makes your front driveshaft angle worse.
If possible (not sure on 208t-case) the 205 t-case can be clocked down. This means the front angle stays the same because the t-case is just rotated a little bit where it mounts to the...
after watching the video, I am pretty sure the starter gear is throwing to far and may be the cause of the grinding.
anyone know if you can shim the nose cone on the 24 volt direct drive starter?
Thanks

I am going to compare it to my 6.2 first, I might take you up on measuring the 6.5 but I will see what the 6.2 looks like.
I have started to pull the engine, I am going to get it back on the stand where I can see things better and not have the tranny in the way.
yes, I have been real busy in...
for those who want to preserve things I have found that the new wd40 sticky formula works very well. I have my 6.2 that I pulled sprayed down with this stuff and so far (almost a year) it looks the same, no additional rust and I live close to Galveston where everything rust overnight.
after a long break from the truck due to work, I finally had a couple days to work on it and I am now completely frustrated. I changed the flex plate to use the one that came off of my 6.2. I know it was good with no issues. I am also using the starter that came from the 6.2. Both were...
I think you see a boost pressure drop because the displacements of the engines are different. pressure is relative to the displacement when the turbo is the same. The engine is just a pump to the exhaust side of the turbo and thus the 6.2 and 6.5 are going to pump different rates.
putting the...
I think the pop off pressure is not the same on the two injectors, could be wrong but I don't think they work the same or they would be sold as same part
I have a Leroy, there is no warranty on any motors sold at Leroy and probably with the rest of these guys unless you buy a complete drop in and have a certified mechanic install it.
I spent big dollars and probably could have got just as good a motor for less.
customer service was ok but just...
ord does sell new shock tabs that you can purchase and weld on to the tube. I used the ord tabs instead of relocating the factory set up. I have the same zero rates and would have had the same problem.
I know you need your starter back, have him call me. I am in college station today and tomorrow so I can bring it to him so he has it just in case.
I will bring it to you if I cannot meet him. I hate to read this when I am sitting here with the starter I borrowed for testing

make sure those are the tough country HD's
you need them for the weight of the engine.
As of yet I have not seen anyone on this site give the tough country HD's a bad review
