Hey Mike/maddawg,
Do you think it would be less bubba & more military if I transplanted in a few sets of windows out of a M109A3 box?
Anyone know of a wrecked M109A3 box in the Pacific Northwest?
Do those windows come out easy?
That is rayzer's avatar.
Hey,
if the Germans were supposed to be the master race and all, wouldn't that have meant that they would have had more leg room in their military vehicles?
I know the Unimogs sure doesn't.
And the Kubelwagons and Schwimwagons have to be similar to a VW bugs, which I cant even get my right...

It makes it easy for the little guys to do the math, not so many conversions.
For me it is more a problem of not being able to get my knee past between the wheel and the drivers door, to operate the clutch.
I guess I could have just used an automatic transmission.
The other option I...
Oh, your talking about the sprag.
I read your title as eliminating drag on a 5 ton.
And I think you have to get up to +60mph before drag becomes a concern.
Nevermind.......
I believe they are made by Blitz, like the cheap jerry cans and jerry can holders.

Some more pix from cutting down the side.
Sorry they were taken at night and I don't have the software to lighten them up.
And a pic of the welding upgrade from my Lincoln 110, a Miller-matic.
After all the learning on the bed, drilling out the spot welds, flipping the front and back, and learning how to stitch the steel back together, I decided to 'go another direction' with the bed.
I took the dilapidated bed off of the parts deuce and cut off all the sides, turning it into a flat...
I am really surprised that so many of those participating in the poll are OK with the truck having windows.
The first thing I thought when I saw her was
" Oh great now I have to come up with curtains for the interior. The military doesn't have curtains! Blinds maybe, but not curtains"
Next...
 Mmmmmmm tires.......................
Gonna look pretty sweet Scott.
Maybe check the brake components, while you have the old shoes off and before you put the big meats on.
Thanx for the pix mcmullag.
I really want to find out how that trapizoidal plate above the door is mounted.
And what is that color of light green that the interior is painted?
Does anyone know of anything, other than a ships porthole, that has round glass window like the pix in post #7.
atankersdad - It already has 14.00x20 NDTs on it now.
Although they have duels on the rear axle and singles on the middle axle.
I am really tempted to put a set of 16.00x20s on her.
Driving here home for the 1st time I had to go under some train tracks.
I kept thinking I was going to rub on...
I was reading Gunfreak25's house paint thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/paint-bodywork/65478-note-latex-house-paints.html
And thought it would be good to gather paint code information into a single thread.
Could those of you that used latex/acrylic exterior house paint to paint your MVs...
Here are pictures of the hacked up door, the fuel fired heater sitting next to the PTO driven generator, a picture of the device used to set the governor speed, dash plate. Sorry about the flash streaks, just took the pictures in the dark.
So I am getting ready to get the Gull Wing fixed up for parade / rally season.
I was thinking about the exterior appearance and I could use some input on the paint and windows.
A local fire district gutted her to use as transport and a mini command station. Then they cut holes on the wings and...

Howdy Non-West Siders,
Since I saw elkhunter's 3 month bump for the Third Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy&Campout, I thought we should start planning our trek to the west side of the state.
Last year Varyag & myself made the trek via The Old Inland Empire Hwy & Hwy 12 htrough white...
