    individual truck history?

not usually unless someone happened to be in that unit and happens to remember that truck. Quite a few of the M1123s never actually got assigned to units, and just sat out in the Barstow desert for a couple decades before being sold off. I know mine is like that because it only had 32 original...

    WHAT IS THIS??

Jack mounts inside, then there should be a black plastic cover that goes over it, held by 2 spring clips like the ones holding the battery box cover. I was told to wrap a ratchet strap or similar around the outside of the case when the jack is installed, because if the cover opens up it can...

Tags hanging to the frame and body

yeah, it kind of does. Putting the BEOD in the back (scale weight 9500 lbs with gear in it) does help soften it up a bit. The main question I've had with the MAK suspension is did they increase the GVWR of the truck with the armor kit installed, or was it still only 10,300 lbs. The armor was a...

Tags hanging to the frame and body

those tags might be the identifier for what springs they are. Mine had tags with the part number for the M1114 springs in the front which are 3 times stronger than the M998 springs (about 3k lbs per inch compression vs 1k lbs per inch compression)

    Humvee Starter / Flexplate Teeth

might be a stupid question, but are you sure the flex plate is installed the correct direction? I don't know if it's possible to do that or not, but it might explain why the starter gear isn't fully engaging if the flex plate has the teeth offset from center and in the wrong direction.. I'd...

    What caused this?

it could be a bad connection caused by the pressure washing, or maybe the water was shorting out one of the plugs, as the connectors are not designed to withstand high pressure water. If it were mine I would just keep an eye on things for now. If it does it again then start troubleshooting the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Just wanted to make sure. I've seen too many people post things where they think because it's "stainless" that it will never have any type of issue no matter what they do with it. I'm also somewhat near a coast, so very familiar with corrosion here also.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

just remember that stainless steel and aluminum don't like each other, so if you are in a wet or salty environment you might have some corrosion issues.

60 Minutes has a story of military vehicle accidents. Tonight NOW west coast.

The uparmored trucks, or trucks with turrets and weapons mounted on them are higher center of gravity. The plain version with soft top and soft doors has the center of gravity pretty darned low for how wide it is. 60 degree up/downhill and 40 degrees side hill are pretty good.

    So I bought a trailer... (M1101)

usually a motorpool NCO or other authorized person will take you for a check ride in one truck, then sign you off for that series of vehicles (whatever variants that particular unit has on the books). Not so much a test as a verification that you aren't a total idiot behind the wheel. I don't...

    So I bought a trailer... (M1101)

Difference is the earlier trucks had a max tow rating of 3400 lbs, and later trucks or those with upgraded bumper were rated to tow 4200 lbs. So the M1101 is for the lower rated trucks, and the M1102 is for later/reinforced trucks. Driver's license should just say something about HMMWV variants...

    Oil Pressure "LOW" ? 6.5L non-turbo

when I picked up my truck it showed 30psi cold, and 0psi hot idle. Drove it about 1k miles that way. Replaced both the gauge and the sender with new ones, this set reads 60ish oil pressure cold and 30ish hot idle. (until the sender started leaking through the electrical connector and started...

    Soften M1123 suspension

Keep in mind that you might find either of the types of spring upper mounts in the rear. For the cast mounts you will run the rear springs longer. For the welded mounts they end up the same height springs for front and rear (but you can tune length for your average loaded weight) Just...

What transfer case do I have?

hmmwv is full time 4wd. There are civilian versions that are selectable. The military version is not. https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transfer-cases/np242

    Light bar!

just about every one I've seen was sold to the public as part of the BEOD (Body, Explosive Ordnance Disposal). For the price of just the rack selling on the secondhand market, I got the rack WITH my BEOD.

What transfer case do I have?

NP242 should be the only one used in A2 trucks. The parts manual clearly shows that for your truck (Usable On Code C17) uses NSN 2520014092512 for the transfer case. That transfer case comes up as the NP242 when searched. all the manuals for your truck are posted here, and the parts manuals...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

the friction modifiers shouldn't do any harm. the hubs on A2 and newer trucks are all CTIS versions.

    Light bar!

M161 Alley Cat experimental vehicle. Story I heard is they put out a contract to build some trucks using all the leftover M151 parts. About 60 of them were made, and most ended up down in south america.

    Light bar!

for a 2 door soft top you could probably use the camouflage storage rack as a mounting point, if you can find one. Rear is just flat feet that bolt down to the top of the B-pillar, so could probably be used with a 4 door soft top as well (but might look a little funny?)

2002 HmMWV DEEEEP fording ? PICS

I put on mud flaps with some 2" angle iron, and cheap mud flaps from NAPA. used 20 mil PVC tape from the irrigation section of home despot as a physical barrier between the aluminum body and steel angle iron. Bolted the angle iron to the bottom of the fender below the tail lights, then bolted...
