I'm assuming that is sarcasm aimed at the "massively overpriced government contract parts" line I said above (sorry, it's sometimes hard to distinguish sarcasm from other types of statements on the internet sometimes)
There is a certain amount of cost in manufacturing a part. In comparison to...
it's not ground clearance so much as the departure angle changes quite a bit compared to a truck without it.
Even worse angle if you add a 2" receiver than hangs below the bumper.
yes, they point to the shackles that are rated for the truck to be airlifted by.
I've also seem bumpers with "sling and tie down" stenciled on them, with no mention of airlift.
To steal a picture from elsewhere:
wolfer has a reputation for selling parts that are junk.
There is no way they can meet the specs as laid out by the government contract, and then have them be more durable or whatever they are claiming than the government specs.
There really isn't any way to build parts that exceed the specs...
Just because people refer to something using certain terms doesn't make them official.
In the parts manual the "airlift bumper" is simply referred to as "bumper, vehicular"
No mention of airlift anything
it also shows braces going from the frame to the outer ends of the bumper.
These braces...
In the parts manual the M1123 is UOC (Useable On Code) "NNN"
All of the A2 variant trucks (4 speed non turbo trucks) are 12k drivetrain components
Only thing you need to pay attention to other than that is there are a couple things different on the engine or related systems for trucks with a...
currently I'm running Goodyear MT tires because the ones I have look in decent shape, aren't terribly old (less than a decade is good enough for me) and because it's what I have.
The set of goodyear MT/R I got a couple years back developed major sidewall cracks within a year of mounting them so...
Centramatics or Blalancemasters do work. I have had Centramatics on mine for the past couple years and the difference is amazing, especially with how many times I've swapped out the tires on rims or tire/wheel assemblies, and not done any type of balance on them.
you guys know this forum also has a TM section with the HMMWV manuals in it as well?
For A0/A1 and A2 series trucks (includes M1123 because it is an A2 series truck) all operator, maintenance, and parts manuals.

https://www.psmagazine.army.mil/News/Article/2493071/m1097r1-hmmwv-order-transmissions-by-serial-number/
If your unit has the M1097R1 HMMWV, NSN 2320-01-346-9317, with a retrofitted engine, check the serial number before ordering a new transmission for the vehicle.
M1097R1 HMMWVs with...
For a hitch you'll be best served buying the one from BlackDog, rather than one that bolts in place of the pintle hook.
The pintle is too high up for most civilian trailers, and the further away you get from the "bumper" that it goes on, the more leverage.
The "pinball" type that are a flat...
your A2 truck requires a 12V charge to power the transmission control module. If you do not have something to keep the rear battery charged up, they will become unbalanced and quickly kill your batteries. In some cases it's enough to destroy/rupture batteries.
All 4 speed trucks require a 12V...
I don't see them on here, but in facecrook groups there are a couple people near the Portland area that have HMMWVs and are knowledgeable about them, so might be worth asking if they are able to help you out.
Link to our area's group (Pacific NorthWest) if you aren't on it or don't know of it...
it wouldn't surprise me.
When I was in the Army I was driving an LMTV that had a flaky CTIS brain box and would deflate your tires driving down the road.
This site has all of the HMMWV manuals in the TM section, under Present Conflict Vehicles.
So for manuals the M1123 is an A2 variant truck when doing any repairs/service.
In the parts manual the M1123 is UOC (Use On Code) NNN
Vehicle manuals...
"engine rotated" to me says that someone made sure the engine isn't seized.
Literally "the engine is able to rotate over"
Doesn't mean that it's a good engine, just that it isn't locked up.
