I bought 8 of the same type of FMTV wheel/tires from GL and was planning to recenter the FMTV wheels for my deuce.
Why recenter Hemmtt wheels when you already have a set of wheels that were made for those tires and should be just as easy to recentered?
FYI, You can't weld metal that has JB weld in it. You have to grind it back to fresh metal to get a good weld after it breaks again. A lot less work to do it right the first time.
Just a thought.
My brother is very skilled at driving trucks. :driver:
More pictures, doesn't look like the Blue warranty helps (me) much. Also asked my brother to take a picture of the Bows underneath the bed for Cold Warrior.
The bumpers have been ground and painted where the unit info was located, so no chance there.
My photo of the Blue Tag isn't good enough to read. I will see if I can get my brother to take a picture and send it to me.
No problem. The truck is at my brothers while I work on fixing the brake issue. I plan on going back up there next weekend and I will get some photos.
They seem to just be laying across the frame below the bed. I didn't really look to see what prevented them from sliding in and out, but...
The only number I have to go by is 1040-10443 stamped on the frame by the drivers side front wheel. I assume this is my VIN or S/N for this truck. All other numbers have been ground off and then sprayed over. :(
I think my Deuce was a secret agent during her past military service.
Not sure if I want to bring the Deuces into it. The way they think they may take them off the list. :)
I would say that they sell a lot of equipment that is not driven on the roads. If the state you live in will not title it for road use, that is between the buyer and the state. Most of the...
I first thought they sprayed over a small panel beside my data pate, but now realize they ground off and painted the serial number section of my data plate???
I found my Serial number on the frame, where can I find the contract number so I can determine what year it is.
I am trying to...
The best way is to apply public pressure on the Lawmakers to change the rules. Research the movement to reverse the required scrapping of used brass (once shot brass). Public outrage made them reverse the rule and you can now buy it from GL again without being forced to mutilate it. (if you...
I'm going to drive up to my brothers and start changing fluids and filters. I mainly need to familiarize myself with the truck and start pulling together a parts list, so I can track down and order everything I need. Hopefully I can bleed the brake system today and see what that does for me...
Opps, meant to ask. Has anyone had an issue with the brake being soft the first pump but perfect the second pump? I had some suggestions to bleed the brakes and to check the air tanks. I will do both tomorrow when I drive back up to my brothers. Just wanted to ask to see if I get any other...
We got in late last night after bringing my new M35A2C home from a GL auction at Tinker AFB in OK.
I had planned to take a lot of pictures for before and after but upon showing up at Tinker and talking to the GL rep, my day was suddenly booked solid.
The conversation started with, "what did...
Sounds like a chock is not a replacement for a weak e-brake. They are both needed to secure the Deuce in more extreme surfaces and hills. Luckily in Texas flat is the norm, and hills are unique. :)
Now if I could get out of the truck without being violated by the e-brake and/or releasing it...
To expand on this thread I picked up my truck today from GL. The brakes went to the floor when pumped as described above.
I checked the MC and the reservoir was empty, so I put almost an entire quart of Dot 5 in it and closed it up.
Pumped the brakes some and they got better and better...
