I think I am to the point of swapping motors and will most likely get a working used motor to drop in but I want to rebuild the take out and then eventually drop it back in. What I am concerned about is the logistics of it. The LDT will not hang on a conventional motor stand...looking for some...

Nothing quite like the experience of lining up with an LCU that has dropped ramp on the false beach (sandbar) about 50-75 yds from the real beach....put the HMMWV in reverse and start backing into the ocean, watching that beach master quide you to the LCU, waves literally crashing into the back...

I will be doing that to a couple of existing openings as well as some of the rust areas. I am not sure what type of caulk to use under the patch i am riveting on and also on the seams....any suggestions?

So you are saying use a fiberglass epoxy for inside and i dont understand what for the outside...Remember, i am STOOPID when it comes to body work. I can drink a beer fairly well though. Does grinding/steel brushing then treating the rust with OSPHO sound correct prior to the epoxy?

I filled 7 large trash bags with that old glass insulation. Most of it was so broken down that it came out in fist size pieces. Big pain in the behind. Of course me down here in south Bama i had on flip flops and shorts so i effectively got glass over whole body. Going to transfer to the engine...

At least it is down on the left side. I sunk mine a while back but the fuel tank was under water. No fun draining 50 gallons of diesel water mix into 5 gallon buckets.
