Has been covered pretty thoroughly, and it's pretty much a bolt-in. Have a brand new LDS engine that will probably never get around to using, if anyone wants it. Shoot me a private message.
That's disappointing. Would recommend contacting RCV (rcvperformance.com), they make the some of the highest quality aftermarket CV's available, much better than anything resembling stock/modified parts.
Okay so this is *not* resolved. Got to look over a few last week but wouldn't know how they compare to mutt parts. Can anybody positively ID the growler parts?
Okay thanks for confirming that. Don't know anything about the old mutts, but looks like the diffs are unique to that platform? Read about noise and low oil capacity, but what are they comparable to strength-wise? More/less fragile than early CJ parts? Looking over the growlers, chassis are...
Wondering if anyone can tell me what drivetrain parts the growlers use. Have been able to ID the engine, trans, and transfer case, but can't find anything about the differential, CV's, or knuckles/hubs, except for one post on forum that suggested all those parts were carried over from M151, and...
Yes, thank you. From what understand, have a complete 'old style' serp setup, with the big cast alt / ps pump bracket. Found a clutch-pulley and am going to attempt to modify the alt mount to make it work with the old serpentine system.
603 water pump is the last revision of the high-flow 6.5L...
Got some pictures that clearly show different offset, not sure exactly how much though. If anyone knows where might be able to find one of those pullies, please let me know.
Using a 603 high-flow water pump with much bigger shaft, so already have to modify water pump pulley to press onto that shaft, can space tlcrank pulley and other brackets to match.
Lemme try asking this another way. Anyone able/willing to take a measurement for me? The distance from the face of the alternator behind the fixed pulley to where the forward edge of the serpentine belt rides on the pulley is right around 2", what is that measurement with any of the over-run...
In the middle of a serpentine conversion on my CUCV using what think are 'early' HMMWV parts, including 200amp 12/24V alternator and the big cast bracket with integrated p-pump mount. Wondering if can add a pulley with a clutch to this alternator. SS member bought parts from said he didn't think...
Holset directed me to one of their distributors, Performance Turbochargers in fontana (800-232-2834) and they said the stock H1E trunk uses a a 22cm turbine housing and the wheels are 54.2/83mm.
part numbers for reference:
comp housing # 3525359
bearing housing # 3528207
turbine housing #...
Oh, that's weird. When called to check prices and availability, local parts store wanted $60 for doghead relays and they had to order it. So went ahead and bought two of those for what thought was about the same price.
To clarify, will be adding second fuse panel, wired direct to power, triggered by relay. Just want to re-wire a few things in the factory fuse block to clean up the wiring for this custom application.
Harness connections are mostly made with wire nuts right now, so can verify everything is working right before making real connections. But would like to replace some of the lugs and fuse holders at the fuse block. Need to add a few circuits, re-route some wires, etc. Having a hard time figuring...
Simplicity, eliminating quirky electromagical stuff.
Oh, excellent. Thanks for clarifying.
No reason except when went to buy doghead relays, saw these we're higher-spec and less expensive. Why not?
Thanks Again, super helpful.
Meh, suit youself. Not much different in that way from most other online communities, including this place. For better or worse, this is the place for military specific stuff, and pirate is unrivaled for just about anything else offroad-related.
Read a bit about fusible links, and some talk about replacing them with circuit breakers. Would like to do that, has anybody figured out appropriate sizes?
