    Vacuum pump/late shifting M1009

I have the pump removed at the moment. Checking it for any obvious damage/malfunctions. If you could hook up a vacuum gauge and see if you get the same result mine has, that would help to determine if mine is normal, or not.

    Vacuum pump/late shifting M1009

I didn't put my finger to it. I attached my vacuum gauge. The needle oscillated rapidly and completely with each stroke of the diaphragm. No steady reading whatsoever. Each stroke got a full needle sweep. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geBJdWYXaCI

    My favorite tires DISCONTINUED!

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Thing is I really like the look of these tires in particular. I just got off the phone with tirerack sales guy...he found a stash of them in Louisiana...even though their website says out of stock. So I dropped the hammer on a set for $630 shipped! Should have...

Found the M1009 I want! NO TITLE. Shipping to AR. Not sure how to begin.

Well...as far as a bill of sale from the guy, I'd google search "vehicle bill of sale forms" or similar. You can find one you like, or is recommended for either state, and copy or print a blank form and send it to the seller to fill out and send with the truck/driver. That is where I'd start...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

It seems that adding the mechanical temp gauge to the same plate that the GEN gauge is in grounds the plate with the capillary tube to the engine block causing the GEN gauge to come alive. When I remove the temp gauge from touching the plate, the GEN gauge turns off. I wonder if that means that...

    My favorite tires DISCONTINUED!

Man...I think I just missed the boat on getting a set of my favorite tires. Yokohama Geolandar M/T plus in 31x10.50r15 The tires on my M1009 are from 2005 and dry rotted. I'm staying with stock size and was planning on keeping the issued tread style. On many of my other 4x4s, I've run the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

New turn/tail sockets and bulbs front and rear. No trailer socket/pintle mount at this time. There are 2 three prong weatherpac connectors hanging loose in the middle where the pintle mount was. May be for the missing trailer plug? Cleaning grounds as I find them. Did the two at the taillights...

M1009 Old Front Springs - Droop (What should it look like new?)

As a former Chevrolet dealer tech, and test driver at Toyota's Desert Proving Grounds, I agree that the factory puts a lot of resources toward ride and handling with safety and longevity in mind. That being said, they usually take the optimum for performance offroad and "Nerf it" one notch...

M1009 Old Front Springs - Droop (What should it look like new?)

I read your earlier post after searching "motor mounts" and took your advice and went with the energy suspension units. I should be installing them this coming Friday. My past experience with substandard replacement offerings seems to be similar to yours.

M1009 Old Front Springs - Droop (What should it look like new?)

Like has been mentioned, these trucks actually have a reverse arch in the front springs. Looking at the overall stance, your ride height isn't off much from new stock. I also agree with the majority that lifting these trucks isn't necessary. The blazer is pretty capable as is. I would work...

New member in AZ. CUCV M1009

Hey Guys! Taking some time off from the wrangler forums since I just picked up a 1986 M1009 from a Vietnam Vet here in AZ. He got it out of florida with ~2500 miles. I got it with 14000 miles on it. Running great and shifting late. Look forward to collecting the few missing pieces and restoring...
