Canadian Mk l Bren Carrier parts help

No good pic, It was pouring and I left early. They are mounted on the pick up tubes in both tanks, apx 1/2 diameter hole in the brass ends, the pick up tube runs through the screen. Held on the pick up by a cotter pin. They are apx 3 inches tall x 1 1/4 in diameter. I'll see if Craig can take...

Steel vs Aluminum tubing (Camper frame)

There are other options for a top bunk, try looking at toy hauler set ups. I have a Carson Trailer ands it uses a pull down bunk that when up, allows a person to stand under it and pulls down 3 feet or so. It is suspended from the walls with spring loaded "hinges" if you will. My sons trailer...

    Simp's M915A1 Build Thread

Is there a way to pin it on in the location you want and when not in use the pintle is accessible? Kind of make it pivot up into position and pin/secure it for use and pivot back down and pin/secure it when not in use or needing the pintle?

    1941 Bren Carrier, Type 1

The guy that restored this was anal about keeping things as original as possible, the only thing I see that isn't "stock " or a repro is the ign coil. It is a neat little carrier, I think he maybe wants to sell it.

    1941 Bren Carrier, Type 1

Had a chance to get this gem up and running, Has some small issues with the fuel system, guess that's what happens when things sit with gas still in them!! Hopefully in a few weeks I'll take it for a spin around the compound. Working on this for a friend of the Museum, been almost 10 years since...

    Simp's M915A1 Build Thread

2 and 5 use the same end sections, I labeled 2 wrong, saw that after I put the pics up. The ends on 4 will only work with 4, same for the log and 3. Progression time wise, 1, 4, 5, 2, 3. There were some funky manifolds made for use in fugly trucks like Ford L series, Volvo W series, Mack...

    Simp's M915A1 Build Thread

#1, Log manifold, came on NTC 230 up to the 335. Will fit and work on the NHC #2, 91-95 N14. Low mount, will fit on the NHC, but the plumbing will be funky. Ports smaller to increase velocity thru the turbine. #3, N14 Plus, Nope, will not fit on the NHC, note the mounting bolt angles. Small...

    Simp's M915A1 Build Thread

Guess it depends on what parts you have changed. The turbo from an N14 was designed to work with the manifold on the N14, they have smaller ports, different outlet angles and the smaller ports on the heads. All this was done to increase velocity and make things start working faster, all for...

    4 BBL Carb Conversion

While not an 880, I had a '77 Power Wagon with a 360 in it. I did the 4bbl conversion, Found a factory 4bbl manifold at a junk yard and installed a Carter AVS. Linkage was easy, the kick down is adjustable. Big difference! I had 36 inch Kelly Safari tires on the pig, couldn't climb Cajon pass...

    Resurrecting Oily Brake Shoes

Stem clean them. When I worked for Navistar, might have been IHC back then, I was in the lease dept. Wheel seals were a common failure, we just steamed the begeebies out of them. I do not recall any failures or quicker replacement times, but that was a while ago. I am pretty sure the linings are...

    M939a2 Coolant Surge Tank Cap

Just take it to NAPA, they can match it up, should be just a normal 10 lb cap. The civi ones will not have a place to put the chain.

    Rigging a chain fall

You could fab up something that is like the hoist in the M6. Make it modular so it is easily removable. We had modular hoists for pulling heads and engines out of boats, they were aluminum and could handle a C series engine....like the ones in A2 5 tons...except with all the marine stuff on...

    M35 Brakes weak

Deuce brakes are a PITA if there are things wrong in the system. Major and minor adjustments are important. Start with the mechanical adjustments, then do the hydraulics. When they're done up correctly, they work well.

    M66 ring installation

That pig is HEAVY! The M49 is a better choice, just my opinion, been there, done that. Used it too!

    NHC 250 Valve adjustment problem

"the PT could have jumped out of the socket on the follower and is sitting between the valve and inj followers...not in the cup. I'd pull the box and have a look see." Easy to happen if the box is removed, the "suction" of the oil will cause the PT to stick to the lever adjustment screw and...
