    Stumbling and stalling out CUCV

I had a M1009 that had a similar issue. I finally found the drain plug on the bottom of the fuel filter base was not completely tight. After tightening it the stalling issue never happened again.

M1009 Glow Plug Relay resistor location?

The resistor is located behind the air cleaner on the fire wall. This thread will help you locate it and do the bypass. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?121398-GP-Resistor-Bank-Bypass This thread will help you understand the GP system and how it works...

    cucv 12 volt connection where?

You may want to consider this modification to the firewall mounted 24 volt bus bar to get a good 12 volt connection point. It's not hard to do and is reversible. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?95803-M1009-Rear-power-24v-to-12v-modification&highlight=radio If properly done, this...

    Quick question about wait light

The wait light should always have +12 volts on it from the fuse box, the ground for the light comes from the GP controller to turn the light on and off. Check the dark Blue wire that comes out of the GP card connector to see if it has rubbed thru anywhere and is now connecting to ground. If...

A muddy resistor bypass - overkill is a GOOD thing!

Minor correction, it is 100 amps that 8 AC60's draw at 11.3 VDC. We use these 100 and 150 amp breakers in vehicle radio installations. http://www.delcity.net/store/Hi!Amp-Surface-Mount-!-%3Cbr%3EManual-Reset-(Switchable)/p_193073

    Carmine Red

From what I have found, Carmine is a bright red. I have painted all of the interior burgundy parts in three CUCV's with this color and it works very well. This is very close to the OEM color. http://www.eastwood.com/burgundy-interior-paint-aerosol-12-oz-net.html One of the dash pads was...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

A good set of tire chains is hard to beat. There are all different types for various conditions. Mud, Ice Snow etc. Driving skill and knowing your limitations are critical in conditions like this. I think you made a wise choice and turning around when you did. Karl

ST85 vs. other c/o GP Relay?

I use these relays for our projects at work. They work well as a GP relay and snow plow relay. http://www.murcal.com/Catalog/Metal-DC-Contactor-Family/974-1215-011-09

Not a problem, more of a glow plug question I'm not sure about

That is normal operation for the GP card. "During a cold engine start sequence, the GPM will typically keep the WAIT light on for approximately 8 seconds and will keep the GP relay closed for approximately 15 seconds. This time is measured from when the GPM sees the start sequence from turning...

Not a problem, more of a glow plug question I'm not sure about

I check them every year, usually just before winter. This way I know that I have working glow plugs when they are needed most. I also change the fuel filter at the same time as the GP check. I always write the date and the mileage on the fuel filter with a sharpie. This way I have a quick...
