I changed all my marker lights to led except the two front ones under the headlights. leaving a couple standard bulbs in the system allows the stock flasher to work. yes the flasher is easy to change and cheap. my next round of working on the lights I plan to upgrade the flasher and the last...
Maybe a different gasket compound is needed. I use the high tack aviation gasket sealant and have had no problems on anything I have used it on.
It stays soft and sticky.
I just changed my valve covers back to gasket from the RTV. taking the other side of my valve cover off to replace the...
Things have been on hold with the new motor because I ran into to some trouble with it. When putting the valve cover back on, I had a bolt hole blow out. The threads were not deep enough. They would not warranty it. considered all the options from getting a Lawyer, gun, or new head. I...
The 6.2 non turbo just does not have the horse power at that low of rpm. The reason it works with the th400 is the rpms are at the top of the HP curve for the motor.
I was disappointed with mine also. I am changing to 6.5 turbo.
If you turbo the 6.2 it will help but some turbo 6.2's don't...
They state it is for front disc and rear drum, wonder if it is a problem when you converted the rear to disc.
Mine is currently removed from the truck and looks pretty bad, was considering replacing it.
I assume this is same as stock and since my current one is stock and working with the...
I have centramatics on my 1009. got dana 60 up front with 16 inch hutchenson aluminum bead locks and 39X11 xzl tires. each tire and rim is at least 125lbs or more. I machine balanced them as best as possible with stick on weights on the inside of the rim. clip ons wont stay on the bead lock...
just so you know that once you put LED's in the dash, the dimmer does not work. LED's need a special electronic dimmer and probably not easy to wire into the circuit. I have red led's and like them, the red for some reason does not need a dimmer. it is easy on the eyes.
to help even the red...
ORD normally sells all the different shafts for the 205 if you don't find a used one.
You can use the ORD magnum box as a spacer also. Its a great compact doubler. and it bolts to both the 205 and 4l80e with no other adaptors. It is the adaptor. Not the cheapest way to go because you also need...
if your leaf spring perches are moving, that is not a good thing. sounds like your frame has been through some tough flexing.
I know some people when they want to stiffen a weakend frame have all the parts welded. I would imagine if you used grade 8 hardware it would be better than what you...
I believe they go to the diagnostic port.
I know the drivers side goes there for the tach buffer. not sure on the passenger side. I thought it only existed on drivers side.
I believe the front diff will hit the cross member with no lift. The ord cross member goes between the motor mounts and is angled just a little bit forward. it does not have the big u-shape the standard cross member has.
I don't thing the cross member itself vs. stock would make much of a...
yes, GEP switched from Navistar to Dalton, No information any where on this switch. Thus my distributor Leroy diesel did not know and sold me a Navistar. It was in my barn before I could find out it was a Dalton.
yes, my only real case is about the switch. It is no secret that the engine was...
It is a Leroy diesel gep. yes I paid a ton for it. and yes I am pissed off.
I have received legal advice about it and I do have a case if I wish to pursue it. The case I have is that I ordered a Navistar and got a Dalton without notice.
with regards to the bad machining, it is a hard case to...
been a while since i updated. I had a problem that is almost resolved so I can get back to building the motor. I installed the roller rockers and when putting the valve cover back on, one of the bolt holes blew out of the head. Upon instpection it appears to be bad machining, the hole was not...
the compushift looks like it has a few more fetures and options. my controller is US shift 1, i do not know what is different from the shift 4
I have dual transfer case that will get me serious engine braking without needing computer to control that in the tranny but sounds like a nice...
I carry tools always. especially when on trails. all you need is a pair of wire crimpers a butt connector and ring terminal. All of these can fit in glove box.
when I splice the fusable link at my shop, I solder the conection and heat shrink with di-electric grease in the heat shrink. This...
not a real necessity in my opinion if you have that much stuff that is running at startup then a separate fuse block directly to the front battery would be a better solution to your accessory needs. run both the + and - to the battery and you will get the least amount of noise in your equipment...
Ok, I believe I have that but I will check to make sure when I get back to my line work.
I know there are two different ones, the longer one is about 1 1/2 inches longer than the shorter one and it sticks into the tranny so you really cannot tell the difference from the outside.
So apparently...
no, I know about the hole in the output area, I do not have mine plugged. I did a two wheel to 4 wheel conversion so I still have the hole. My tranny connects to an ORD magnum planetary drive which has a good front seal so I have had no issues so far. IF I was connecting to the t-case...
'There is also a special long tube adaptor that has to be used on that rear line or the transmission will die very quick'.
do you have more info on this. I have the rear oiler version and I just extended my existing lines to the tranny.
I am in the process of many changes which include a...
