White Owl Parts Co. (252-522-2586) has rebuilt and good takeout LDT engines available. 1st pic is a Tooele rebuild, 2nd pic is a good takeout. Pics are from their website. They are located in North Carolina. Good folks to deal with.
I don't know anyone in Tooele at this time, but Boyce Equip. & Parts Co. in Ogden Utah have some. (1-800-748-4269) This picture is taken off their website.
Most of the LDT/LDS rebuilds were done at Tooele Army Depot in Utah. I have one in my Deuce, it's a good runner. There may still be some in Utah, save ya some shipping costs.
I'll take a stab at it and say try White Owl Parts Co. (252-522-2586) or Memphis Equipment Co. (901-774-0600) Both have been in the Military Truck business a long time, and have experienced people to help.

I have been going round and round with the horn on my Deuce. When operated it sounds like I have half a horn, and my air pressure is over 100psi. I have done an archive search and couldn't find a problem quite like this. So I replaced the Solenoid thinking that was the problem, and checked the...
The military refers to the K53D as a Mobile Weather Station. Now the insignia (MWS) on the front and rear bumpers makes sense. This K53D is built on a 1942 closed cab CCKW. Here are a few more picks. The 1st is the Weather Station Interior.
Chaplain, this is the same vehicle as in my previous post except it's outside. This truck is a K53D according to the owner who is also a member of the MVCC (Military Vehicle Collectors Colorado). The truck came off the production line as a CCKW during WW2, and was then modified into a K53D. The...
