    Scratches on gauges

Yea I would use toothpaste on my police car lights and it worked good, however these scratches I am finding out are too bad for the polishes. May try removing the lenses. Rchalmers3, after reinstalling the lenses, any issue with moisture? Just wondering about disturbing that crimp.

    Scratches on gauges

I am in process of spiffying up my interior. The gauges are all out. A couple have decent scratches on them. Is there a process to remove them?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I got my transmission in!!! So in all, I replaced the rear main, had flywheel turned, installed new clutch, and installed a new to me transmission. Cranked her up, looked through inspection hole and bearing is not spinning, and goes in gear when clutch is depressed. I think it is a done deal.

    Rear main seal

Wonder if pilot bushing was damaged some putting it in. Maybe a slight mushroom on end.

    Rear main seal

Nope. Rod in, and nothing hitting. Trans shaft goes in the pilot bushing about 1/2" right? Figured that is what it has to be. Also not hitting anything outside for sure.

    Rear main seal

I had the transmission within about 1/2 inch of going in all the way. Won't go any further. Is that a sign of clutch plate not aligned exactly right? I did not use an alignment tool.

    Rear main seal

Roger, I have not looked to see the size of that gasket, I assumed it went on behind the flywheel adapter, maybe the edges are just pinched in there...will check that out.

    Rear main seal

    Outstanding. Thanks

    Rear main seal

No, the seal and housing is out on the pic. Just talking about the gasket behind housing and the adapter plate. The seal was easy as pie to take out of the housing. Cleaned it up and popped it rigjt back in with rubber mallet and piece of 2x4.

    Rear main seal

On taking off the rear main housing, the flywheel adapter housing gasket tore some. So should I leave what existing gasket there is in place and use liquid gasket maker, or using a exacto knife trim the rest of it away and liquid gasket all of it? This gasket does go underneath the entire...

Yep. I had to acquire one, and after that it was all good.
