    New member in Utah

Welcome from Kamas, Utah. We own a FLU419 as well for the ranch and our company Paradox By Design works on upgrade kits for HMMWVs and CUCVs as well as their civilian counterparts so lots of trucks around on a daily basis!

Starter cranks in ON position and continues to crank after engine starts.

This also might be a bad starter solenoid. When the solenoid is engaged electrically the electromagnet keeps it engaged with the ring gear but a spring retracts it. If it is rusty or the spring is broken it will not retract and run on with the ring gear.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Haha! Its on the way! ;)

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

OK call it a shameless plug but... If you add a Paradox By Design Cooling Upgrade kit you will find all the remaining gunk in the system is a fast way. The reason it is taking so long to clear the system is the rear of the block has horrible pockets that hold air, rust, grit, etc. After our...

    Cold Weather Starting Tricks ?

I put the hand throttle 1/2 inch higher than the idle stop, no prime, no ether and she starts right up down to 0 deg every time. One very very cold morning (my ether can is empty and cant remove it, stuck) I did give it a shot up into the snorkel during cranking and is fired right up. So I...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Since we work with a lot of hose four our HMMWV and CUCV cooling system upgrade kits I might make these if there is enough demand?

    Hmmwv rear spring question

If anybody has a few spring sets sitting around and would care to measure the free length of each type, I have a spring builder from my days in Motorsports that can make up springs in any rate and even progressive. The military sprung these to carry a lot of weight which is not normally needed...

High lift jack will do it. Just make sure you have a good base.

    CUCV Cooling System Upgrade Kit

Going forward, I think we can come up with a solution which will extend the normal 90 degree fitting packaged with the CUCV kits out a few inches to clear the governor on 1031 trucks. We can also change the hoses to accommodate the new position. We can then make this a kit option when...

    Mileage

I get 15 MPG in mine but it is not stock. I have the Paradox Cooling upgrade, new and yet to be released electric fan system (mechanical fan is basically never on), but my pump is turned up a bit too. This MPG is not just on the flats as I am in Utah going up big grades a lot.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I really like to also heat the oil pans too. Both the engine and the tranny. Cold oil is not a happy thing.

    CUCV Cooling System Upgrade Kit

We will get it on the way! Don't think there should be any issues with the governor but we have never had a 1031 in the shop either so I guess we are going to find out. We can always change things up to accommodate if need be.

    CUCV Cooling System Upgrade Kit

As mentioned there are significant differences between the HMMWV kits and the CUCV kits. The Full CUCV kits have accommodated the glow plug sensor. If your application is modified from a stock HMMWV or CUCV we have existing kits or custom one-off kits we can build to accommodate nearly every...

    CUCV Cooling System Upgrade Kit

We changed from a soft hose to an armored and rubber coated hose about a year ago but the internal flow of the entire kit did not change. The flow of the system is internally regulated which came from a lot of R&D to get enough to create rear flow to balance the block temperatures but not too...

redline water wetter - diesel version

Water cools better than coolant. Water Wetter allows for some lubrication of your water pump seal and other seals and has some anti-corrosives in it as well. It basically lets your run strait water when you wouldn't be able too normally. As mentioned this will not give you any freeze...

    Block heater

For the pump style block heaters look up KATs brand. Good luck!

    Block heater

I live in cold country too and I generally stay away from the freeze heaters. I have just had too many fail when I was farthest from home and with the least amount of tools at hand ;) I use a recirculating water pump heater into the heater circuit, it moves coolant around and gets to...

Applied Companies Trailer 23KW Gen w/HVAC Unit issues

So I think one thing I am fighting is base engine speed. The engine wants to idle at low RPM. If I manually accelerate the engine and jamb something into the throttle to hold it there, I get a green LED and I can fire up the A/C unit on blower or heat (no refrigerant) and everything is great...

Applied Companies Trailer 23KW Gen w/HVAC Unit issues

I pulled the sensor which had some light debris on it mostly shavings and metal dust. I cleaned it an reset the depth. Both before and after I am getting a good speed signal.

Applied Companies Trailer 23KW Gen w/HVAC Unit issues

Nope, and I could actually see the relays buzzing!
