I tried to take a picture from google maps of Meisau Depot, where I worked for 6-7 years outside of Kaiserslautern. There are 15 HUGE climate controlled buildings. Hundreds of vehicles in each one. Then to the west of the main post is lots of woods. In the woods are other things. Its so big, and...
Tom,
I think you are on the right track. Take one out, put int in a bottle of carb cleaner, or something like it, screw the top down and let it set 1-3 days. Then exercise it. Replace it and start again.
Maybe @Ray70 and @Light in the Dark use something better to soak them in.
Identification, Friend or Foe.
In the early 90's I went to a NATO briefing. All I can say is that it was "General Information" for Non NATO units, and how they would fit into the Order of battle. A young ADA (Air Defense Artillery) Officer was speaking about IFF. The American Pilots were...
After WOC prison camp, we went to Ft. Lost in the Woods for two months Tech training. We were 13 people in the class. 12 of them were real, Engineers. Combat Engineers. They knew all about what the machines were and how to operate them. I had no earthly idea, about nothing. After 4-5 weeks of...
There at least 2-3 ships that stay parked at Diego Garcia, with just this kind of cargo. Just like we have in Germany, POMCUS. Pre-Positioned equipment, in climate controlled warehouses.
Can you find them in a TM? Part number for the seal? The reason I ask, and I am not a truck guy, but I seem to have read someplace here in the forum, that the M1097R1 is simply an upgraded M998. If so, perhaps you can find the parts there in the M998 book and we can try and find the...
OK, You got the right part number, but when a part number has a cage code of 19207, that means its a TACOM made up part number. I looked up the NSN and found that there are several alt. part numbers you can try.

I can not guess how many hundreds of hours I have stood behind this monster, or one like it. If you build a house, or work in construction here in Germany, this beast and you have had a round of dancing. You are compleatly numb, can not focus on anything, cant hear anything but this monster...
The S1 you have is what we call the Mark 2. It is a known problem child. This could very well be your problem. Look in the -24 TM for the test procedures for the switch.
Also make sure all the wires are tight on the switch.
Here are two documents. The Power flash explains a bit about the other info. There was a move, to replace the S9 with something like the old S9. With plugs. That did not happen. Money and the thought, that this old set had ran its course.
So this other "Thing" was trotted out, and some folks...
The reason I wrote to Gcelevator to copy and post, was so we could see if the publication was a "do not duplicate or intellectual reserved rights". And if it was, we would not post it. The only way to know, is to look.
