I test fit the used Hx35w and found the waste gate actuator bracket was too long and hitting the firewall. The cost to replace the bracket was $150. So instead of paying a machine shop to make a new bracket, I bought a new Hx35w for $150 on eBay. I’m sure you guys have seen these before. I heard...
Just made this video to show others how vital it is to install a clear hose running between injection pump return and hardline return. Doing this mod will help save time and money on 50% of the hard start issues.
Compressor wheel housing all cleaned up.
Wastegate was binding itself on the edges of the wastegate flap and edge of the exhaust housing port as seen with the pencil. It was from too much slack with the neck of the wastegate.
An E clip quickly fixed this problem.
Last night, I started working on the Holset Hx35w swap. The turbo is used and I took it partly apart to clean it up and do some measurements. I am thinking about sanding and polishing the Compressor housing. Today I am going to try and hunt down a oil feed line adapter. Also the wastegate is not...
It was a tunnel built between 2 mining towns. Comet Mine which is now a ghost town with a lot of building still intact. Very fun day trip! Last Sunday we ran up to Natural Bridge Waterfall. The water was so low that I climbed down into the small cave opening where the waterfall usually shoots...
Today I got the new climate control panel in and installed a new heater switch plug harness. Finally have heat! 😄
Also installed the Aluminum 700R4 pan, along with the Transmission Temperature Sensor.
When it warms up, I plan on swapping the GM1 turbo with a Holset HX35W turbo.
That sucks you could not get a flowkooler water pump. I remember last winter when I was building 6 motors, flowkooler said they only had 2 left in stock. With this crappy economy from COVID, it does not surprise me that they are short handed with the manufacturing.
The other alternative could...
Yes! I posted stats on my build thread. Here’s a copy. Keep in mind, it is a 6.5 optimizer turbo rolling 37” tires, 4.56 gears and a 5 1/2” lift. I was not driving conservatively.
Here are the stats from this weekends 760 mile round trip.
50mph @ 1500rpm
55mph @1700 rpm
60mph @1800 rpm...
The toasted terminal is the brown wire. Looks good but the terminal is not. Following the brown wire, it is connected to a single terminal which looks good.
I think over the years of using the heater all the time, dust, corrosion, moisture in the air etc prob caused a poor connection which over...
For about a year, my heater switch kept cutting in and out. A good tap on the dash usually got it working again. But now it is totally shot. I pulled out the switch and wiring and found the positive terminal connections were toasted and the wire was hot to the touch. Looking at the wiring...
The worst time the heater switches decide to break is this time of the year… 😔
Does anyone have a good climate controls switch panel they could sell me?
I had a random guy ask me if I still have my Np208 32 Spline Input Shaft and was willing to pay almost anything for it!
So I searched the web and sure enough… You can’t find one! Zero! All sold out!
SOOO, just so yal know… I can honestly see a NP208 32 spline CORE go to at least $600! And just...
A thought just occurred to me… If you are worried about restrictive air flow, why not install a 6.5 filter indicator on the steel 6.2 filter air box to determine if you really need to spend the time and money doing modifications? I’ve never seen anyone doing this, so you would get the honors of...
Back when I had a non turbo 6.2 in my M1009, I had every mod or tried every mod imaginable to get as much power out of the 6.2 without installing a turbo.
I added dual 3” stainless exhaust, advanced the timing on the injection pump which allowed more fuel, added an Oem civilian cold air pipe...
