The torque converter is the OEM Cucv that was mated to the OEM th400 and 6.2 diesel. I did not have any problems until I did the 6.5 swap. I read the stalls for the 6.5 vs 6.2 is different?
Right after I did the 6.5 Optimizer Swap the Th400 has been acting up.
From park to drive in order to get the transmission to engage, I have to rev up the motor.
Sometimes when in first or second gear, the transmission acts like it slips out of gear into neutral and then goes back into gear...
37/12.5/r16.5 New MTRs arrived today. My 10” wide 16.5 rims were too wide and every once and awhile a bead would come off with low tire pressure. So I plan on finding some OEM 16.5 rims for this set. This set will be my main off road set.
Today I picked up a set of 16/38.5/R16 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws with rims in exchange for my dry rotted, unevenly worn, with flat spots 37/12.5/R16.5 tires and rims+$500. Looks sexy. Wish they made more of these tires. I will use these for grocery shopping since I can’t get a spare.
I sold a mostly full used kit for $3000 with a banks turbo rebuild kit that is no longer available. The banks kits are worth a lot and are still the best turbo set you could get for a 6.2 and even a 6.5!
Also sold 2 partial Banks kits for $800-$1500.
Last I checked with Banks they still sell...
Sorry for the late reply. Looks like the Phantom 2 transmission sensor is located above the pan on the Th400. Currently with the trans cooler I just installed, the transmission temperatures are much cooler now.
Also these good big Optima Batteries are still up for sale. $350 each brand new and...
Unfortunately, while removing the grill and head light trim to install an oil cooler and trans cooler, the driver side blinker/marker casing came apart... The glue was too worn out...
The new LMC Truck hotness has arrived and as soon as he gave me the package, I installed them.
Also today...
I got the nice $10 junkyard transmission cooler on. It was super easy! I see a decrease of 20 degrees in the temp now. I feel good about it.
Also got the pyrometer working. One of the wires got disconnected somehow during install. I think I peaked it at 700 degrees climbing a 5% grade hill at...
Back a long time ago when I first got my M1009 there was very good deals on 6.2 diesel take outs and Goodyear tires. Back then it was a good deal because those motors and tires were not so old...
As the years pass...
These take offs and take outs are not so much a good deal anymore...
Sure...
Yes sir! I got a quote from the best transmission shop in the state of Montana and they gave me the best highest price to rebuild it in the State too! To make it bomb proof it could go from $3000-$10,000 depending on what I want done to it. Wouldn’t I be even more lucky if it was already built...
I feel extremely lucky! I found a suburban in the junkyard with a 700r4 already bolted to a 6.2 diesel. 1985 model so I would not need to have a manual switch for the lockup. I’m gonna pull this sucker tomorrow and put in in the blazer for better mpg and hwy speeds. That lower 1st gear is a plus...
If you pull the motor and have it shipped to me, for $500 I can take it apart, magma flux the heads, pull pan checking the cylinders for ya. For $2500 I can do your head gaskets if it is still a good motor. Additional $200 I can install lock n stitch on heads. Another $500 I can port your heads...
On driver side radiator there is an upper and lower transmission cooler ports. My question is....
Which port on the radiator is the transmission cooler input and output? Is the lower one the output going back to the trans or upper?
I ask because I am installing a transmission cooler upgrade on...
