    Uses for Deuces

I just caught on that someone THREW THESE SOCKETS INTO THE DUMPSTER????? What the...? And I am sure these are not China-made, either. A small percentage of people are largely idiots.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

That looks very neat and clean!

DB556, you are planning a serious attack there! New filters, HH O-rings, oil change, coolant top up, all aired up.....she'll fire right up! Don't forget brake fluid and a means to bleed the brakes! I see you have duct tape, so you are going to be just fine!

    Rear Axle Seal

Here is a helpful thread. Not all steps are relevant if you just do the seals (you do not have to drain the gear oil out of your axle) https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?8460-Front-axle-seals-and-boots-stepXstep https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?102010-deuce-rear-axle-seal

    Winch Cable Guide Bolts

No special bolts. I'd use regular Grade 8 bolts.

    Dead Pilot's M36a2 Build

The part that potentially sees high voltages is the regulator (mechanical energy goes in but no current flows out). I am not an expert on the mil spec alternators. A regular 12V car alternator is "expected" to survive being run without being connected to the batteries. Disconnecting the wires...

    Just joined the Deuce club!

A knuckle boom is immensely practical to have. That one looks like a good size for the Deuce. As long as you can reach the rear of the bed and still have ok lift capacity. Are you going to shift the bed to the rear or shorten it?

Thanks for measuring and referencing! Yes, as I mentioned, level to the bed sides with river wash gravel I weigh in with about 6 metric tons load (slightly under). That is 12k lbs. It would put the truck just over the data plate load for highway use. I find that with a good hump in the middle...

    1950 Kaiser Jeep M35A2

David Matthews, if you plan to use the truck for your shop, and it doesn't have a winch, yet, then I would agree that a heavy duty electrical winch might be the better choice. Why? Because when people other than yourself drive this truck, they will be able to use the electric winch safely. The...

Ditto to the PTO winch. Use the correct aluminum shear pins (not a grade bolt). Your truck looks good! They put a 90 degree elbow already for the air intake cap (aka mushroom cap), that is a good modification. It looks largely unmolested (no bed sides cut etc.). Any questions.....this site has...

    Front Mounted Tow Bar

Your truck says "Mess with me...and you'll be sorry!". Love the double bumper with the push pads! I relegated my tow bar to the front of the bed in a clamp. I never use it...just want to have it, in case. I can toss it off the dropside bed by myself and lug it to the front. By that time, I am...

Injector nozzles, 1 vs 2-hole which do i want?

A few comments. - the "Chinese" 2 hole injector nozzles were looked at and tested by someone very knowledgeable on this site and given a clean bill of health. The quality was there. These are injector nozzles. They need precise machining and tight tolerances for the holes but they are not a...

recent problem with Wolverine Technologies LLC

FWIW, I ordered the kit from Wolverine last year and got excellent service and all my questions answered. Maybe I was lucky....or they are a somewhat distracted outfit.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

What is that last one from? It is one heavy suck*r and I never really found out where it was used. I have one of these.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You bled the airpack first, I assume, then the wheels? Do the brakes themselves work as they should? If so, it could be simply the pedal itself needing adjusting.

Yes, THAT is how things happen around here! Very nice score, by the way, says a fellow w/w and dropside owner!

Filled level to the top of the sides I get about 6 tons into the bed. With a hump in the middle, a bit more. So, you are looking at 30-plus loads. Pushing the gravel off manually with a rake is doable, especially on a "C" with dropsides. However....doing it for30 loads...no, thanks! Get an...

    OZ-USA LED headlights?

After three failed TruckLite LED sets I purchased "7'' Round 120W CREE LED Headlight Hi/Lo Beam Fit 97-17 Jeep JK TJ LJ Wrangler" on a well known auction site for less than $70 for the pair. They fit exactly, look good and are super bright. No complaints! Adapting the harness was easy -...
